I really like the shape you have come up with to cover that awkward ‘protrusion’ - it will work really well.
I reckon you should tell DD you are swopping anyway - that way you get the best finished room in the house 😉
KKAs at 15.07.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
- OPs to mortgage = £11,816 Interest saved £5,28 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030

I know teenagers can be difficult (having been one!!), if only they understood the value of the amount of time you have spent on it and that your Christmas holiday is more like a christmas workiday, What you have done looks like a very good standard, so I imagine the end result will be DD will want her room, also DD is lucky to have such a big room. Good luck finishing off. All the best Crazy beeXX1

Ah thanks @RedLipstick I love seeing other people's renos but beejeez it's tiring when you're on a time limit @KajiKita i'll share a progress pic in a bit but bare in mind it's half way through it's build 🤣🙈& @CrazyBee787 I said to DD we've spent a small fortune doing it for her and she's had the first redo in both the last houses now so to cut us some slack and have an open mind when she's home - she can be really narrow viewed and if something isn't as she asked for she will complain. She basically asked for white walls and that was it. I thought that too boring and if I were to swap with her in the future (there is possibility of this) then I was going to do it properly the first time. So we've added back the coving, picture rails and tried to make it pretty as well as bare white that she wanted. OHhhhhh and I decided to not do white walls. It will show every imperfection so I've gone for what I hope is an off white with a pink tinge (really hope it's not really pink or she will complain). We've tried to make my wardrobe idea look built in but remember... We're not pros 🤣🙈 inside is tomorrow's job. Also we left around the window bare. I will do that in a few weeks when the new windows are fitted because it will likely crack. So I've left wallpaper spare to sort walls, patch with paper and will paint good once done. Wardrobe inside I plan for two rails one above the other. And four or five shelves on the side. I will probably get a small cafe rail for the inside and a pretty voile to hide everything as it doesn't have a door. - and woop you can't see the stairs anymore 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you 4am lightbulb moments. I've spent the day painting wood, caulking, and priming the new wardrobe ready for picture rails, skirting and paint tomorrow.
Here is the progress so far. I've stopped to cook chickpeas for dinner. We had a yummy soup I threw together for lunch and enough for tomorrow too. I also am cooking enough chickpeas for hopefully two lots of curry.
Right anyway pic so far (if you don't like the traditional look and are a minimalist probably best to look away ....now!) 🤣

This is what it looked like when we came to view jt. The new wardrobe doesn't jut out quite as much as this brown one and obviously you'll be able to walk into jt.

Wow. Fantastic imagination to come up with that solution and it is looking so good.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
