  • Shame you had such a stressful weekend, your'll get there with the house you both already know it will take time. Its a shame they put such a damper on it. As KK says get that vision board out. Are there any competitions offering house makeovers???? That would be cool!!!
As for you ex, definetly a big PPH. Unbelievable, I feel sorry for the step children and I dont even know them!!

Well done on the cash back, can your partner give you some money forxmas towards the phone?

    flowers x
Thank you 🙏🏻 I will make a vision board I think....I'm determined to show them now...this is what I can do and I don't need to be told I can't!
We've already done three houses up on the bounce so we know what it takes. Which is probably why I've not started.....I am dreading living in the dust and mess all over again 😆🙈
Ex...I feel sorry for the SC too. One of them lives with him when she's not at uni and he's quite literally moved the GF in while she's been at her first term of uni. He is actually unbelievable. I've never known anyone quite so selfish and self centered.

Sometimes I don’t think oldies really realise what they’re saying 🙄 I know from my point of view and some of the things that get said by my parents
I think it stems from the old era of not buying anything g until they could afford it and the dads being the breadwinners while moms stayed at home 🤷‍♀️
Thankfully times have changed 😁 Try not to let them get you down x
As for Ex; words fail me 🙄
Yes I agree it probably was that. And usually I let it wash over me but it really was pick pick pick all day. Even at the antique centre..I picked up a bag just to use as work bag, it was like £12? Something like that. And it was leather.....oh hell ....did I get a telling off as I was buying leather as a vegan. And I tried to defend myself as I never ever buy new leather and only things that are second hand as they're already out there and ya know sustainable and all that jazz (they last longer than faux leather for sure I've been through four bags in as many years). I put it down in the end and felt properly told off and wanted to actually cry.
Then back at home I'd cooked a nice dinner the day before so reheated it and as it was cooking we got a moaning at as we booked to go to Manchester for two days just a mini break a bit of food, look around the cathedral etc (I've never been so new experience for me) "what on earth do you want to do that for?"....my veg plot plans "why on earth are you planning on putting potatoes THERE!" Haha I could go on.... seriously it was non stop 🙈 I could kinda see why DP ex hated her by the end if she had that for 18 years 🙈🤣...she is usually kind and nice though (if a bit sharp with her tongue) so I have decided to write it off as just a bad day for her 🤣🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

  • Today was not only a NSD but I got a refund back for spends last week that I sent back *yay*.

Chickpea & spinach curry for dinner, so easy and tasty it is a winner.

Work was a bit of a faff, no one seemed to know where I or the other new starter was meant to be today. I spent my morning quite literally being a bouncer *rolls eyes*, (seriously!!).... and then went off to lunch, was thinking I was somewhere for sure this afternoon to be told- "NO that's where I am! You can't be." She got a little irate about it  which I thought was funny as it's not the best group and would have been more bouncer like work....so I went back to the office grateful I wasn't going, got told I was somewhere else, off I went....only to find yet another person there saying the same...only it was the other new starter, and we get on quite well, so I said, ah well, their mess up I am staying unless told otherwise. So we had a fun afternoon crafting and sorting out girl dramas of he said, she said (I actually avoided that and offered to stay with students instead- and in doing so I managed to slice my finger with safety scissors......🤦‍♀️ only I could do that!!

Bonus....I actually ended up with 2.5 hours lunch today and only did 4 hours work because of the mess ups of the "where am I supposed to be" game.

I am home, showered, hair washed, in pjs and in my happy space...DP and work still and DC not home from school.....that means......PEACE

Tomorrow is my day off and I don't intend on doing anything aside from some washing and tidying. I do not want to 'people' at all. I might try and make some of my survey sites up to payout level as they are all about half way there. All money can go towards my new phone then.

  • Today's jobs are under way:
    Washing
    Washing
Washing and ummmmmmmmmm more washing  :joy:

I have also done some surveys (one was a tenner) and cashed out £13.60 something I have rounded up and moved it over to my 'new phone' pot. I have also received the £45 cashback I requested, that is also moved over to the pot. I have £149.05/289 in there already for the phone  I have more outstanding on the surveys- £7/8 but cashed out what I could already the rest is pending.

I booked tickets last night for a theatre show locally that a friend sent me a link to, it just happened to fall on my birthday next year, so that is my birthday sorted. I booked for DP and the kids to come too so just under £100. I will budget for a takeaway too and that is my bday sorted in Feb - oooo look at me being all organised!!

A friend sent me a parcel this morning and in it was a lovely xmas card and also a little tree ornament that looks like my beautiful F little Doggo....I wonder if he is just as fussy up there. He used to stand and stare at his bed if it was crumpled like he could perform magic by staring  and lo and behold it usually worked one of us would jump up and fluff it for him :joy: and he would do the same to dirty water or food he disliked  I can just imagine him still being just as fussy a character up in doggy heaven.

Cutting DD hair tonight too...I need to find my comb!
Have emailed work with a letter that is outstanding (oops I am not very good at replying straight away)
Dinner I will see what is on the meal plan...
Hmm not much else I need to do today which is nice. And DP is taking me out for brunch (will be lunch in a min but he's stuck on a call) so a nice restful day.

  • It sounds like you are in a positive spirit - go you, get that stuff done and be merry and cheery and happy and enjoy your new phone when it arrives. I love the way you have described FLD he sounds like he was a sweetheart and quite the character. Do you think you will get another doggo in the future? Well done on your Mortgage OP...I wish I was in that place right now!!...if I keep up with the no spending and get a job I am golden!! Good luck on todays endeavours...all the best HotdogX.
  • Having a mixed day. We went out for brunch, but DP had taken a call so it pushed back to lunch really, we arrived after 12. I couldn't see much on the menu for me and honestly felt so disheartened on the 2nd or 3rd option of -no- not GF or VG that I just chose chips and a drink and thought about the lunch I had planned to make myself at home instead. We know the manager there though and he had seen I wasn't able to order anything and he went back into the kitchen to ask the chef what was available without telling me. He put an order in for me and brought it over - free of charge. I had to hold back the tears, how sweet was that. One of life's enjoyments to me has always been food and I am finding it a real struggle lately to enjoy this anymore. I really appreciated this gesture 💖

I said to DP that I am almost at snapping point with my diet, it is too restrictive. I feel miserable with it. I have been veggie for over 10 year though at this point and can't ever imagine going back to eating animals  and being off dairy & gf makes me feel better so I feel I am at a stalemate and don't know what to do about it. Feeling really down about the whole thing tbh. I struggled enough when out and about as just vg never mind adding gf to the mix. I am so past all the 'omg what do you just eat grass' jokes now. So today's kind gesture from the manager friend really was making me tearful in the restaurant, I thoroughly appreciate a random act of kindness, you never know what someone is going through on any given day. Most don't share their innermost feelings, just the surface ones. He had asked how I was and I did the usual British thing of, I am fine thanks, how are you?

I have also been trying to find a hairdresser locally that has availability when I am free and also that comes recommended. I found an appointment for this weekend at a local salon that I used to frequent a few years back. I booked without checking the price, understanding it probably had gone up since I last used it. But when she asked for a deposit of half the price I nearly dropped to the floor  . £23 I paid today- and another £23 due on Saturday when I have it done. I felt really stupid cancelling after having paid so I kept it but omg. Am I just tight or is that expensive. It is not a super high end salon either. Let's just hope the haircut is wonderful and I feel better afterwards and all is well  cos right now I am in shock WTH mode lol. --I have been feeling down about my appearance lately, I think partly due to having a bit of excess weight, sagging skin, partly due to wrinkles appearing from nowhere & grey hair (thanks menopause) and having gone through the change so young I just am feeling quite down about it all. Like my youth up and walked away from me. So I hope the haircut helps a little. I intend on cutting it much shorter than it currently is, above my shoulders again and lots of layers so maybe I will make them work to get my money's worth :joy: - the last cut I had was a dead straight across the back one and took about 15 minutes and I still paid nearly £30 :hushed:

A nice student cheered me up yesterday, she asked me my age, and I have never been embarrassed to share my age, it is a fact of life we all grow older each year. I told her and she was shocked and I thought oh god she thinks I look really old (considering most 16-18 year olds think everyone over 30 is ancient) and her and her 2 friends were really complimentary and said they thought I was only 35 that cheered me up somewhat  - not that age matters, nor how we look but just lately i've been feeling my age and I never did before.

I intend to pay that RAK (random act of kindness) forward as always. In fact in every day life I try to be kind and complimentary to people and help when I can as I think it cheers someone up and creates good karma to come back to me. But I will definitely try to pay this forward over the next few days

I guess I have had 3 RAK paid forward to me this week, the cute tree ornament from a friend whom I don't even see very often, the free meal and the compliments from the girls yesterday. I have lots of gratitudes for today to equal out any negatives.

Onto real life dramas in my home (the washing mountain)...
I am onto the last wash of the day. One has dried, one is in the dryer and one is still in the WM. so I should think they won't all be done and finished until dinner is well under way. It has got even foggier outside so much so I can barely see to the end of the garden so deffo not a drying outside day -probably for the next 4 months at least
