Hmmm. I'm tempted to say, and I will do, that these days nothing is actually deleted from social media. You might think it is but in a while, technology will come along to reveal all.

I wrote a letter to Santa in 1957. It will come to light sometime soon. (I did get that little spaceman torch with three coloured lights, thanks).

I went on my phone, found an old WhatsApp message, highlighted it and clicked on the dustbin icon.  WhatsApp deleted the message but made it clear that it was only deleting my copy, not the recipient’s.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Well that would save the OP from his missus reading it!  😉
  • Why are you changing the date on the phone?
whatsApp allows only delete max two day old messages the theory is if you change the date on the phone to just after message was typed you can delete it but it doesnt seem to work.   I contacted a specialist and he said he'll charge me $100 to purchase software called LOG'S and software send him both numbers and he'll delete it, anyone know about this?

Where did you find this "specialist"? You send them money and a mobile number and they'll delete data from it?

    Horsecrap.

I have just put that to the test, and deleted a 2 year old message in the same way I would delete a 2 day old message.

Your message first makes no sense

Secondly send him your hard earned 100 bucks (why not pounds) and I guarantee you will never see your money or him again...

Either this thread is a wind up or the op is utterly desperate to delete this message which means he is having an affair, therefore you made your bed now lie in it!

Just clear the entire chat from your phone

Open chat, click three dots, click more, click clear chat, job done

You will not be able to clear the chat off the other phone however that ship has long sailed, (unless you can get hold of the phone of course) I suggest using disappearing messages from now on
  • I seem to have missed the fact that it is the other person's phone that is of concern, rather than the OP's own phone.  Even if 'Delete For Everyone' was still available at this stage, I believe it only deletes from Whatsapp, and not from any backs up that have been created on Google Drive or elsewhere in the interim. With 5 weeks now elapsed, it is likely that the other party does have a back up.

How did your draw that conclusion? I can't see that fact anywhere.....
