  • Eeeek it's exciting how close it is now. I'm glad you're able to manage without the child maintenance but that shouldn't be the case. Why have a child if you're not going to take any responsibility for it? Never understood that.

It's nice when you can have more freedom in your budget isn't it? I hope you keep posting on here so we can cheer you on with the saving and enjoying life balance.

    Thank you so much!!!!
And yes it’s baffling and sad to not be responsible for your children. Aubergine said he hasn’t even got car insurance atm as it’s everything he’s not paying …not just CM. So he’s not responsible full stop. Had on about £200 worth of branded clothes though and always does. 😬 gross.

All chores done and I’m chilling and adding things to my wish list and plans for the DF future! I really appreciate the support!
    Cant wait!
Still very inspired by your EF 💪🏼❤️💯

  • There's something reassuring about having an emergency fund behind you. So I'd focus on getting that to £1k then start looking at other options. Most things that are likely to be emergencies will be covered by that.

  • Back to the daily grind. But I love my job so it’s not really a grind. Was awake in the night so did a bit of organising with 2025 plan and snowballing savings plan.
Got an email today that my credit score has increased. It’s still pants and also something irrelevant but a little nod nonetheless to be getting there.
A NSD. Hopefully a few more this week. Think it’s only butter I need at the shop and I have some change knocking around if I need to go and get that. I’m thinking of a cash slush fund of a few quid for those buys. So I don’t whack £20 on the little shop while I peruse the deals that I don’t need!
All budget done and paid for this week. Ready for a final hurrah of in debt ness and then carrying on with watching the pennies and pounds but also that freedom to work towards a balance and joy in life, not chasing my tail and not overspending because I’m overwhelmed or not connected to the day to day.
Lots of appreciation today for the gruelling work it takes to get here and the many lessons learned.

  • Have you considered a vacation to another part of the British Isles - with no planes or passports involved? Several people on this site go to a caravan site somewhere else in the country for their vacations. If you plan it like you would an overseas vacation with "souvenir" shopping, meals out, and special events to visit, it can be a regular vacation and just as much fun if not more so than an out-of-the-country one. Here I am trying to pick a town I would like to visit that I can get to by bus and spend the middle of the week there (so as to avoid the weekend crowds). The hassle of traveling by plane is just too much for me anymore.

Yes but DS’s are hankering after a ✈️! I want to do that for them. I do understand the no crowd draw though, not looking forward to any sun bed wars and crammed places that’s for sure!

    Day two of NSD. 🎉
Tomorrow won’t be as DS now decided he wants something different for dinner, which is great news as he’s so restricted. Also bread and butter required.
Scraping through otherwise and have limited funds to stay on budget this week. Especially as aubergine still aubergin-ey and no CM. But again it helps me stay in budget and that now I’m viewing as spare and therefore pay off some bits but without the control from aubergine holding funds over me. I think he will cough up as he usually does. But I will contact CMS Fri if nothing has arrived, just to get that ball rolling and keep my boundaries strong.
Roll on Nov payday to be out of DMP!
Yummy batch cooked Thai green curry tonight and thank gosh cos I’m only just home after DS football ferrying.
Life and work very busy now we are back to school and work. Ready for some chill time already. And balance and having a holiday to look forward to?! 💯🤔🤞🏼✈️
