Oh my what a day you had. I think under the circumstances you were completely justified to have a posh shop! I'm sure everything will turn out to be as yummy as it looked!

Sometimes I find that once I have had the really rich, posh food, it satiates my want for a while and I’m glad to get to lighter foods. Enjoy what you have, use as much of it as you can and let go of any guilt.

Good luck to VNM for any vehicle rebuilding he can achieve today (I have visions of you going shopping with the Quad! 😉).

I'm with the others - enjoy the food. After all, if you get to retirement with a big pot of money and no idea about enjoying treats, that's not going to much to look forward to.

I don't know how you organise your shopping list. Mine goes on a whiteboard and I try to remember to photograph it before I go out. If I forget, a glance back at the previous list is usually helpful, though not perfect. Just don't photograph it in a big hurry, as the resulting blur is very frustrating when you go to check it.

I hope the VNM can soon fix his car. He does sound very capable.

I know a huge inconvenience for you but that is an amusingly long list of vehicles to own not one of which works 😁

M & S shop sounds lovely, nowt wrong with some treats if you can afford it, enjoy! 🥂

PIP you are right, it is ridiculous to have so many vehicles and not have one that actually works. I think it is funny!! Went out on CC this morning (could ride him to village and get shopping in a back pack perhaps?) and neighbour very kindly offered to lend me one of their vehicles and made me promise in an equine related emergency to call her as she has a horse box until mine is fixed. (VNM and I agreed we would both be too worried to borrow a car but the offer was genuine and kind).

Have had a lovely day, pottered about, made lentil leek and carrot soup for in the week, made a meal plan to use some bits from freezer.

Tried all the freebie mushroom coffees that have been cluttering up the kitchen, all disgusting as were the electrolyte drinks and some ginger night time drink. All have been despatched. Sorted the spice shelf and a bit more of the cupboard. Done some weeding and did a little bit of clearing in the tack room however really everything needs dragging out and serious decisions made. However, started by buying some vacuum storage bags for all the horse rugs. I'm not sure how well these will work but they seem a cheap option to storing unused rugs if they do work.

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

That's a very productive day, @Watty1 . I like how seeing someone else's list can inspire me to make inroads into Things I Could Usefully Be Doing.
