Good stand to take, especially if you have the examples ready of the other rearranging then the person still not showing up

Sounds like a plan to me. If the dates are in the diary far enough in advance, it suggests either the other person is disorganised, or over committed... or they aren't prioritising the project.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Omnishambles is a term that can justifiably be used here. Sounds to me like the habitual no-show needs a wake-up call. I hope you'll be spelling this pattern of behaviour out @Watty1. Quite right to put a proper value on your time and yourself. Is there a saying something like 'Lack of preparation on your side does not constitute an emergency on mine'?! Missing lunch is a guaranteed short cut to poor decisions. Love Humdinger xx6

I think you'd be justified in telling them you've been considering resigning for some time, and that if they can't be considerate of your working commitments, you're unable to make time for them. TBH I wouldn't be that polite in your situation

thanks, all. I actually love @greenbee words above. Have logged them in ready to send next week.
I saw the no show lady has sent a huffy whatsapp saying as she is the one needing the rearranging perhaps it she should just stand down. I note a couple of people have placated her but frankly i was tempted to say, yes perhaps you should.
However I'm going to use Greenbee's words almost word for word

Took Charming Cob out, and I do love him so much. A car pipped his horn at us so I placed cc firmly in the road and explained to the driver this was not a good thing to do, quickly realising the driver was an Irish Traveller and in a temper. However, his passenger apologised, told the driver not to say a word to me other than sorry then the car behind (they were in a chase) also pipped horn but realising CC and I were not to be messed with got his sorry out before I could say a word.
There must be a party locally or a celebration as it was really busy with traffic and every 3rd car stopped and a man in a lovely Irish accent informed me that CC was "a fine stamp of an 'orse", or that he was "proper quality" or simply said "gorgeous" or "really nice 'horse you have there love" or some such. I forget how fabulous he looks because I see him every day but it really made me smile. CC of course took it all in his stride, he knows I adore him and that is all that matters.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Financial review, I have spent way to much in local food shops, all this popping out for a quick dinner etc has really run away with the cash. I have sat down and made a proper meal plan for 7 days, most of which will make an extra meal for the freezer, or, provide leftovers for a lunch for both of us when we are both here. All traybakes or slow cooker meals. Shopping done with a lot of store cupboard items and I think that should come in at around £55 to £60 each week as my plan is just to repeat the next week so I bought enough for two weeks and will just need to pop to Aldi or similar for veggies.
Then made a large pot of curried green lentil soup using up carrots, green beans that had seen better days and onions from fridge and some of the vast bag of green lentils (will pop back over to GP thread for green lentil inspiration
) as I have a very large bag of lentils to use up

Also ... what's a 'lunchbreak'? I don't think I've had one of those since the financial crash in 2008...Watty1 said:thanks, all. I actually love @greenbee words above. Have logged them in ready to send next week.
