An irritating start to the morning.  Up early so VNM could go to his mothers house as the roofer starts today.     VNM has "tidied" the kitchen and was therefore not here for me to ask where he had put things. Inexplicably the grill pan was found on top of the kitchen cupboards (?); the bread no where to be found at all (has finally turned up with the plates) and the supplements I take were on the top shelf of a cupboard that is empty because I cannot reach it.  I had to use a wooden spoon to flick things to the front and climb on furniture to get down.

Thus slightly grumpy I put Wattydogs new trainers on and he flicked them off within seconds of getting outside.  He has to wear trainers to protect his paws as he walks so badly now.   I think the trainers are a very poor fit and will need to get him some others as after two re-fits I gave up and told him to stay in with a kong as trainers do not stay on.   The laurel hedges are  having work done and WattyDog guarding the place in case said workman thinks about coming anywhere near the place.

VNM rung to say the battery purchased for his mothers car is the wrong one.  I'm too irritable to say can we not just scrap the car. I have suggested this in the past tactfully but his daughter and he want to keep it and restore it (for what I have no idea).  Echos of the daughter's car that sat in the garden  I fear.

OK, I am laughing now. These are tiny things really. I will finish clearing the two kitchen cupboards of things I know will not be eaten/drunk which can go to the food bank and/or friends and then put things back in a more sensible fashion.

Aw poor watty that is all tiny things that will stack up till you shout at the postman for making the letterbox flap 😆 😆

I'm assuming you have a tvnm (tall very nice man)  but certainly weird ideas today about tidying the worktops lol

We had boots for our gsd.  Started with balloon boots which are very tough in spite of how they look.  Then we had velcro splints which were just oblong of tough material with velcro gripping capability.   You added more velcro strips in places to support the particular issue.  Then we got actual boots for him.  His problem was the tendons stretching so he had big banana feet and was wearing the top of his paws as he flicked his feet rather than just walking like a young dog.  We used to say he looked dead hard with his splints on 😆 softest dog you could hope to meet in reality 😆

I have no idea why people - assuming mostly men but I may be wrong - are so fond of putting things on high shelves where those of us nearer ground level would never be able to reach them without a drone... My DH in a 'former life' had a job where things had to be very orderly, but at home they just get put in any available space, even the shed or garage.

This is where having a husband who is only a couple of inches taller than me is an advantage!

One thing we have done is make sure that the shelves in the kitchen cupboard are optimised to be as low as they can be, given the height of what is stored below. I've seen inside plenty of cupboards where the shelves are moveable but people haven't realised or made optimum decisions on what to store where. Boxes of cereals for example work best on the top shelf rather than the bottom.

Another here who totally understands about empty top shelves - even with a small step they are a no go area.
