Thank you so much @Humdinger1, @KajiKita, @debtfreewannabe321, @beanielou and @daisy_1571
It was a very long day yesterday for us both. When they took WattyDog off I started to cry and a really kind member of their team found me and made me a cup of tea and got me tissues, such kindness from strangers. I think I notice it more after all those years with PPH.
The results show that the discs in the spine at the neck have begun to impinge on the spinal cord (around T4 I think for those who know such things) and there is clear evidence the spinal fluid is not flowing correctly. Potentially the vet said he could operate but it would be tricky because of where the impingement is and he gave a 70 to 80% successful outcome. I have a few weeks to think that over.
To access likelihood of successful outcome WattyDog starts steroids to see if that will take down the inflammation. it is just possible steroids will take down all the inflammation and spinal fluid will start to flow again. WattyDog under house arrest, only allowed for walks for toilet to give this the best chance of working.
I'm also hoping the heatwave in the South East breaks soon as the heat really isn't helping any of us here now.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Ah, poor WattyDog and poor you. At least the steroids will give him a break but I hope the weather obliges too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Always good to know what/where the issue is, mind keep massaging over his hips and all legs when you are next to him - everything will be working much harder to compensate for his sore neck
Hugs

Keeping everything crossed that the steroids work for WattyDog. Sending healing hugs to him and hugs to you and VNM.

Thanks everyone. This morning WattyDog does not want to get up. He cannot start the steroids just yet as I can't remember when I last gave him pain relief and there has to be a 72 hour wash out period. I've been up a couple of hours and just don't seem able to do anything. I've lost all my motivation
Supposed to go to County Show today but heart not in it. I have arranged to meet friends and FellPony is going with his person so I need to go and see that but really just do not want to. Such a far cry from last year when WattyDog and I spent 3 days there, avoiding PPH, doing lots of activities, him having a swim each day in the dog pool, watching classes and being a "posh pair" in the members tent.
I will go, and VNM will come along too I think but heart just not in anything right now. Still better go and feed horses.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Perhaps go, but don't stay too long. You are doing all you can for WattyDog, and if he has a quiet morning then he won't be hurting due to movement. You will be back quite soon. I hope Fell Pony does well, it sounds as if they are a good pairing.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
