Isn't it nice to have your faith in human nature confirmed by their help for most handsome. Even strangers. It makes such a lovely change. I do hope it is working for the patient.

How is Most Handsome now? Getting more comfortable?
KK
The patient still has a lot of heat in one foot. It is really hot so there is clearly a lot of inflammation in there. I've spoken with the vet and she is coming out Thursday to assess and see what comes next. Most Handsome is being really good - a sure sign he still has uncomfortable feet.
He hates the taste of the meds so I do put a lot of effort into mixing up feeds that he will enjoy. This mornings favourite was warm Peppermint tea and a few of the pony nuts and a lot of the Charming Cob's supplement to help with his metabolism. It is a very expensive supplement, I think it is helping Charming Cob but at this point if it means Most Handsome will eat the Paracetamol I'll pay the price of a tub!
The vet did say in the follow up call a lot of horses refuse the paracetamol and owners have to resort to syringing it in. I'm really reluctant to do that as Most Handsome is so good with stuff being syringed in like wormers that it would be a shame to spoilt that.
Hoping for improvements by Thursday although have a sinking feeling that foot might need x-rays or scans. Fingers crossed for improvements so it does not.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Dinner Date with VNM last night: The cape washed up beautifully and was worn. I popped it over a jumper that was, in times gone by expensive and realised I didn't like the jumper so changed and the jumper will go on Vinted. Pleased because it means I am sticking with the decluttering and the total stands at 31/365 as have now done both bathrooms, one bedroom and the haybarn (although a lot of rubbish is still in a bin in the haybarn! It and the bin needs to go to the tip at some point.
My counting is very random, I allow myself the count of 1 if I do a drawer or even just 1 if I do a chest of drawers, a count of 1 if I take something to the charity shop be it one thing or ten things and a count of 1 sometimes if I just find one thing to leave the house. It is a random way of counting but it suits me and helps me focus that my dream is to downsize to a one bedroom barn conversion. I've just realised the 1 is for the effort LOLMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

If it was a person we were talking about I would be wondering about ibuprofen as I thought that was better for inflamation, but I declare total ignorance about horses. My last interaction with a horse was back in 1965 in a horse drawn caravan in Ireland. Whilst a lovely horse was definitely downmarket from most handsome.

Financial news, i have enough to pay off the credit card. I've raided every account I can think of and chased up outstanding money due and transferred small and large sums found from places like Vinted and Paypal and I can pay the credit card debt. I made it my focus to be sure the debt was cleared. In looking back over the month I realise I did this not just by checking all accounts for money but also by severely cutting back on spending in some areas like food and socialising but I'm ok with this as a short term solution.
The CC savings account will now hold the money to clear the card each month. I do use it buying on line and for ordering stuff like horse bedding but rather than use it as afloat I will transfer money from my current account to that account so I don't get in a financial mess again and will earn a little interest too.
This afternoon I paid my tax bill (a couple of days early but I like that it is done now)
The bills account worked well in January. There is £106 which will be transferred to the linked savings account. This is to build up a cushion to cover annual bills like buying coal and on the 1st February I will transfer another £800 to household bills account.
My focus now will be building an emergency savings fund ideally to 30k but first step is £10K.

A thought but I'm not sure it will penetrate the hoof wall. The problem is there are sensitive tissues that bond the hoof wall to a bone inside the foot. Most Handsome has had problems with that bone rotating before and we never found a cause. A lot of very expensive remedial shoeing solved the problem back then and I am worried the tissues got inflamed through the sugar in the frosty grass, the bone has moved hence the continued inflammation.
Vet back on Thursday to check him and I have decided to discuss getting the foot x-rayed so that we know what is going on. . I think they should be able to bring a mobile unit out to do that.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
