I came home with a pair of 1950s earrings and a galvanised bucket with the Great Western Railway logo on. ....
The bucket is to be used as a planter on the patio. I have a few galvanised buckets and they withstand WattyDog better than the usual garden planter. This one makes me smile every time I see it and after a haggle I got it for £6.
Sorry re the friend stirring memories, maybe see them in black and white and then shrink them away like an old forever gone movie.
Nice pb win, I am averaging less than you this year!
Hope the cat gets rehomed easily
I did wonder catching up with the diary if we were about to live thru your new moving diary, at least you had a heads up about whats next to do on the list
I am actually really enjoying no MW(NO)P in my life, I have more space, there was no awfulness but dealing with him and his own issues, I am enjoying the time and space back!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks for all the support everyone and for the cauliflower cheese freezing instructions. How wonderful. I will add cauliflower cheese into the meal plan which does need to be made as I need to cut my food spending down A LOT.
The stones for the garden area have arrived and I spent a happy time spreading yesterday scooping them out of the half ton bag and carrying to the spot and tipping out of the little bucket I was using only to find that I had not enough so more ordered today.
I rode the Charming Cob this morning, concluded his saddle was not a great fit so will message saddle fitter on Monday and see if we can get an appointment and now as it is throwing it down with rain I intend to happily spend the afternoon reading or binge watching Netflix.
My planner is finally filled in, I am going to give the Winter Championship series a try with Most Handsome while continuing to get Charming Cob fitter to see how he really is and now I have a plan (and a good financial overview) I feel more settled.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In other news the tree surgeon popped in and we had a lovely chat. I always really liked him, he was cheerful, chatty and did make me giggle when he discretely looked around whilst I was making coffee. The lack of blinds and curtains make it obvious re-decoration was recently done. When we got outside he asked about my winter logs and so on so I showed him the log store, pointed out I still have half a tree to get logged and asked how to dispose of the huge bonfire (he told me he could remove for £200 but told me how to burn it efficiently to save the £200).
The best bit: he said how nice and tidy everything was looking. I felt so proud of my efforts. Maybe he will report back and maybe he will not, I care neither way but I was proud of myself for managing that for the fact that my efforts have made a difference that can be seen. I realised the place looks better than it has done for a while. For that recognition I am glad he called round. (I have no idea what the price for the tree will be!)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

You msut have made an huge improvement in the look and feel of the place, just harder to recognise when one is in the middle of it - always seems so much more to do.
My bedroom is looking the best it has in years as is the study - but I can still see the things that I still need to go through. I cant buy a home now as I am definitely not declutter/death cleaned enough to move.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Do any of you do online courses? I'm prevaricating over mine. It is ready and I cant decide whether to pre record the sessions and just post them or do them live and record them. I like live because there might be feedback but pre-recording might be easier.
I can't decide and if I'm honest procrastinating is stopping me selling it. Any thoughts?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I think there's an immediacy to live - but if you make a mistake, it's out there before you can grab it back. I don't know if there's an option to do live or live-style links between pre-recorded sections? Or pre-record and have a live broadcast to people you trust so you can see their reactions? Then you could amend it before it goes out if you felt it necessary.
On the other hand, you have more control over pre-recording... I'm not a lot of help. sorry.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I think I would record to start with and then maybe live feed workshops with actual client questions on the topics you have recorded? That way you get ‘control’ and time to be comfortable with filming, hearing yourself (always excruciating 😉😂) etc and then the live feed session can be more dynamic and interactive, once you know you have a cohort who will turn up 😊
Does that help at all?
