I love the cabin- love love love the cabin. I don't want 35 cabins in my land, I just want the land, the forest and my own lough - WattyDog will have a lifejacket as his legs don't work so well for proper swimming and we would all be very happy there. Maybe i should consider it as we get nearer to being ready.
For those interested the very gorgeous Lamb Paddock sold for £420,000
No fireworks in northern ireland is, after the stress an absolute plus - as well as the price of the cabin place! Oh and i could have a little boat too - I'd love to laze on a boat on the water and read in summer! (Although not with WattyDog as actually I don't swim too well either LOL)

On reflection an issue with Northern Ireland is that VNM's sister. She lives in supported accommodation and has what is probably severe autism, she is mostly non verbal and has multiple health issues. He researched how long it would take to get here in an emergency and although flying is quick and he could then hire a car he did wonder if it was a doable option.
However, since Lamb Paddock he has taken to sending me properties that he thinks would work and yesterday sent me the most gorgeous property just 6 miles from Snowdonia (5 hour drive to sister). I felt too far away from her but, he says he would make it work as it ticked every box.
A very dear friend, the one who helped me leave PPH and rented me somewhere to go on her farm also sends me properties and i thought you might like to see her latest suggestion

In response to her suggestion I said it was indeed awesome but I was rather hoping for something I could afford!

Have now rung a number of estate agents re VNM's mothers house and settled on one that sounds proactive. The consensus is that it was priced way too high and now suffers from the stigma of having been on RM for a long time and showing substantial reductions. Checked contract with original agent and stuck with them for a while longer so will get the roof fixed and then decide what next with original agent but will move as soon as out of contract. Current agent "a drip" and somewhat hard to motivate.
Other agents have suggested taking it off RM then putting it back as a new listing with offers in the region of xxxx which is about 80K under original valuation but much more realistic. Think VNM was just overwhelmed and the agent sounded confident and of course he and his daughter knew how much the old lady loved her house so wanted someone to love it too and they agreed the high price for market without looking at others.
Also rang a couple of banks re accounts the old lady opened for her daughter (??) and found there was very little money in them. Cannot close account as I am not the daughter, daughter non verbal, cannot walk very well and no chance of getting her into banks so will simply leave those accounts in limbo. Certainly not worth the effort to progress (I had to pretend to be account holder to even find out how much was there). The account with daughter's funeral money apparently does exist according to family but I am not so sure now. I feel that I have researched and following paper trail can work out she opened accounts in her daughter's name and then moved money around and didn't close the original accounts and then at some point I think it dawned on her that if the accounts came to light daughter would lose her benefits. .
After PPH father's estate I really did not want to be involved, but, VNM does a lot for me and he clearly asked for help and I discussed why I had not got involved and he understood but asked me just to take over and clear up the rest of her estate issues. So, adding those to my to do list. The only outstanding points were accounts in sister's name and then the house.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
