No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Have made a mess of planning today. My intention was to go to a fabric shop for inspiration for downstairs, it is a posh shop suggested by my sister. I think I know what I am after but I'm not quite sure so I thought inspirational window shopping might be a plan, but, i then said I would have breakfast with a friend who recently had to have her horse put to sleep and I know she needs the support.
Then realised I had agreed to coffee with two other friends and a trip to a Christmas market. Eeek...the fabric shop will need to wait another week (although I did order some samples from Terrys) and if we do breakfast early enough then I can skip the coffee and meet the friends at the Christmas market. The VNM has put Christmas lights up for me on the stables - he bought them as my last ones broke last year (they get battered in the wind) and these ones are longer and fabulous. I can see them from the kitchen window and they then go around the side of the yard and the haybarn. Love them. I love the lights and the "feel" of Christmas, the celebration of the end of the year and the coming back of the light as we move into another year.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

One of the roofers commented that he shared his lunch with our cat Taz - we saw her one day stalking him whilst he sat in his van eating lunch. She climbed up his bonnet, stood on his windscreen wipers and stared and when that didn't work went round the side to stand on his wing mirror and glared at him until he wound the window down and shared his salmon salad 🤣
The dogs on the other hand have trained the Evri courier driver to throw their frisbee for them 🤷🏼♀️9 -

Home after a breakfast date with the VNM to find an email from another friend to let me know a shared friend had died (she emailed a few of us so we did not hear it as gossip on the grapevine). Seems she just stepped out into the road, looked the wrong way (she was away in the US) and was hit by car. Thankfully died instantly. I last saw her at an event last month. I am shaken by the news and reminded that tomorrow is never promised.
Trying to sort out course material for this weeks session but feel somewhat discombobulated since hearing about G.
