2024 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

Nothing made other than a bit of space. I keep all my craft pens and pencils in a door hanging pocket thing. Yesterday every pen was tested and all dried up ones in recycling. Sorted the ones I won’t use, water colouring pencils mostly, and they are now in CS bag along with some other pens and pencils. So please I finally tackled it.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

@old_fogey
I love the book of christmas decorations - can I ask who the author is please? I quite fancy getting that myself.
Loving all the crafts and makes since I last popped in,
I have done nothing productive or craft worthy the last month but Im determined to at least try for the end of this month.
So I plan today to go through my craft desk and table and have a look at what is actually there to do and then I will make a list.
Im actually away form the 19 - 24th of this month to celebrate my 40th birthday (I know 40! - some of you will remember when I joined this page as a new mum of 20!) so I am hoping to take my cross stitch with me so I can have a few snuggly mornings on the sofa in front of the log fire and stitch quietly to myself.
Time to find me again8 -
@sammy_kaye18 the book is by Carol Siegel. I got it from World of Books for £3.50 including postage! The best thing about the book is that it shows you lots of ways to make up the finished items - it really helped me turn some bits of cross stitch I had taken from Christmas cards years ago into decorations.
I did get a couple of other books on cross stitch decorations, but haven't used them yet.

@old_fogey, what a cute panda card! You are making a great job of those cross stitch Christmas decorations.
@plumduff55,I really like that cute school cardi! I’m delighted your crafty nature is being fed on holiday.
@emsi_b, your crafting mojo seems to have come back with a rush, letting you get on with so much.
@Soontobeoap, that button turtle is lovely. I like all the stencilling too. The beaded pencil cases are fantastic. The crochet bags are lovely. I can crochet and I can sew, but I am never happy with my attempts at lining/backing crochet makes with fabric, so I try to avoid it. Gosh, I love your Christmas hampers; I hope you’ll let us see them when they are filled. I must look out for some baskets too.
@suzeesu2000, cat rescue will appreciate your efforts and gifts very much.
daisy_1571, gaun yersel, for using a favourite expression in our family!
Well, torpor set in, so didn’t achieve much in June.
· finish the crochet shrug for younger granddaughter ✓
· Christmas cards ✓
· cat tapestry x
· Bibliocat quilt panel – think it’ll be shrinking to cushion cover size, instead of wall hanging, lol x
· crochet scrapghan ✓
It’s nearly August, but here were July’s plans – no chance of completion as torpor and life has got in the way,
· Christmas cards
· Cat tapestry
· Bibliocat quilt panel
· another shrug – DGD wants one in bright pink; DD chose the parchment colour of the original so that it would go with most outfits
· another Christmas Eve Wishes blanket – started
I’m hopeful of finishing the blanket this month and I might get some cards made, but, realistically, I’m unlikely to manage any of the rest,

@Greentiger I love the shrug. So pretty. I would love to see how you build the decopage christmas cards. Craft group have been donated some and I need to learn how to put them together before I can teach others. I will try and watch some youtube videos too but I have so much on at the moment. School holidays and grandchildren sitting is about to commence. 😂. Looking forward to a bit of crafting with them. 😊craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@soontobeoap, the decoupage usually has numbers beside each image, so you just start with 1, then 2 etc. I usually use quite thin foam pads between the layers (You could use glue gel, but I find things slip around until it dries a bit). If there are no numbers, then it's a case of looking to put the biggest bits at the bag and adding the smaller pieces. The images are easy to match. Some layers will have more than one piece. If there are a lot of pieces, then I usually split the pieces between 2 cards, like I did with those ones. The layers and the thickness of the foam pads can make quite a high stack that might need a box rather than an envelope. You can't really go wrong - even if you find you've got a piece left over!Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/404

I haven't had a count up recently but I am about halfway through my packet of 100 zips! so the pouch pouches keep getting sewn.
Having a rest from doggy duvets, down to only half of one, but then found one beside the SA clothes bank. It was stained but that washed out. Charity shops don't want these things. When I am home next month will put out a 'I need duvets' plea!
had an £8 spend recently: 4 x packs of envelopes, cellophane pockets & silicone glue all for card making. Forgot that I needed to buy some light blue ink pads online, they will have to wait another time! (For my blue baby cards)
Started a knee blanket & managed to do a few inches on a cruise, only another 33 inches or so to go.
I have an order for 2 dozen crochet angels so that will keep me busy.
Off to pack stuff in the car........thankfully there is a breeze todayBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
