I did, thanks @Watty1. Definitely on the mend today and the session went okay: all the helpers were able to be there and the kids have really taken to the new person.
It's rained for the first time in weeks. Apparently it was very heavy overnight, and it's lighter but steady now. DH has gone for a walk regardless. He cooked dinner too: liver and bacon with tomatoes, onions and red wine gravy.
I've had a lazy day so far! Finished the draft of a pamphlet for parents of children attending our Sunday mornings, am about to make scones…

A mostly sunny Bank Holiday! DH has finished hacking back the shrubbery so the back lane is accessible, then helped me move some of the multitude of plant pots out of the way of where the scaffolding will go. Some were just weeds so the soil has been tipped into the compost. There are plenty still to do.
I was working in dribs and drabs as I kept feeling tired out, but short breaks put it right enough to continue. I did a lot of ironing, too, and some laundry - then fell asleep for part of the afternoon. DH used that time to take the hobby car to DS1's and gave rides to DS1 and his father in law.
I remembered I had some L1dl vouchers I wanted to use and which were about to expire, so we had a walk down there. I was still not fully awake, but that improved over the evening. I got 50% off some 'easy peelers' (which are very delicious) and a free small bar of chocolate, and we spotted an offer on salmon, so dinner was salmon with pasta and sauce, which helped me feel better. Poor DH, meanwhile, has had a bit of an unwell day, possibly triggered by two days of taking a new supplement.
I also spent a chunk of time on Duolingo and somehow am top of my league! Last week I dropped down a league so the competition isn't so strong, and now there's the rest of the week to try to keep my novel place.
My spending today was £12.41 in L1dl.

Yesterday was a half day - we had the morning off as the other grandparents were visiting and taking care of the children. We took them all for a pub lunch (DH paid as a treat, the excuse being they have birthdays coming up). It's gone on his credit card so I don't know what the total was, but it was good to spend a bit of time with them and the girls.
DH gave them a lift to the station afterwards while I looked after the children. This was easier than recent departures as DGD2 was asleep and DGD1 accepted them going and didn't grieve too much, though she adores them and was a bit sad. We did some colouring so she could post them a picture, then watched some TV, which gave me the idea of a treasure hunt (thanks, Hey, Duggee). Thankfully both girls really took to this idea and there are probably still primary-coloured tiny dinosaurs waiting to be discovered in odd nooks and crannies.
DH wasn't feeling well all afternoon - not due to lunch but probably the supplements he's started. He got away with them on day one but it was day two and his body has cottoned on there are tablets involved. I think we are going to have to tabulate what's in the add-on ingredients so we can find what's triggering this. It could be useful as the supplement, which I think does something for serotonin levels, seems to have helped: he had a good night's sleep for the first time in a while and was consequently feeling better, mental health-wise.
We just had a light meal later as we had eaten well.
No evening meeting with my friends as one is away for two weeks. I printed some more colouring sheets for the girls and finished the flyer for Sunday mornings. My team leader offered to put it into corporate livery, so to speak (can't think if there's a more appropriate term!). I got her version back late last night and it looks really nice, though I need to find a tactful way to tell her I've picked up on a couple of things that need to change. I'm overthinking, of course.
This morning I've paid my credit card up to date but there's another £10-ish pending as I bought a skirt on V1nted yesterday. Totally unnecessary, and negating the two sales I made in the last couple of days, but it was a style, colour and fabric that I've wanted for a long time.
I'm still getting lingering symptoms from the cold but am hoping the amount of rest I'm slotting in will help me bounce back. This amount of exhaustion is ridiculous after a simple cold! I'm hoping to get some answers from the GP when my appointment comes round.
Next on the list today is set up the free £5,000 death cover from the Union. For some reason I have to renew it manually every year.
There's been no plan for the week as we had so many days off around the early May bank holiday, but DH is volunteering this morning and I'm back to work this evening then there's a business meeting at church. Tomorrow I have both jobs to go to and DH is back to work. On Friday I have my church cleaning then paid cleaning in the evening. Not sure about Saturday, but I'm helping with the children's session on Sunday.
We were supposed to be looking after J and L's dog last night but she (J not the dog) is off with a cold so there was no need. She's as prone as I am, poor thing.

DH has felt unwell all day so we didn't go out. He's rung the hospital to ask about going on the medication that he's been trying to avoid and we'll just have to see how that works out. It's possible it won't be a problem at all, of course. The other option at the moment would be to go back on the steroids, and DH isn't convinced he was reacting to them a couple of months ago. If he can take them, then all to the good as they've stabilised things before.
I've sorted out the insurance and been to work, and DH collected me to go to the church meeting. While I was out, the scaffolders rang to say they are coming tomorrow, so DH and a neighbour have been shifting pots but there were still some left to move when I got home. There are an amazing amount and the tiny lawn is a good part covered: I really hope the weedkiller has all washed down into the soil, but I've put pots on saucers as much as possible.
The rest of the evening has been about sorting out some exercises for tomorrow's class and wrapping an item I posted on V1nted earlier, and which sold soon after. A whole £2 coming my way, and a bit more space!

We now have scaffolding over one side of the house and a lonely pole on the other side. The men cleared off mid-morning and didn't say when they would be back so I hope the arrangement is to do one side then move it round when needed.
I had a good afternoon at work - the person I'm supporting had a breakthrough - but won't be needed next week, which I suppose gives me a bit of time to plan ahead. Evening work was okay too, but dehydration and lack of sleep were catching up so I'm being responsible and trying catch up on both areas.
I've posted the parcel that sold yesterday, and bought some snacks. I also raided a charity shop and came away with three children's books, though one is really for me.
DH cooked a fishcake for me which I had with some salad bits and baked potato. The potatoes were 91p the other day for six decent-sized, delicious bakers, bought with a marked down small cauliflower that was 54p, having been the incredible price of £2 before the reduction! I don't suppose that sort of price will be news in a few months, the way prices are rising. Perhaps I should invest in a field of cauliflowers instead of a pension.
DH has rung the hospital and they are reluctant for him to go back on steroids so he's going to try the other medication next week. Meanwhile DD is worn out from flu and has asked if we are free to help with the baby, so we are going on Saturday. I think her husband is working at the weekend and I remember that flu plus baby is not a good combination.

Another sunny morning, and temperatures are edging back towards normal for May. I was considering taking the train to go and support J, but have woken up with yesterday's tickly cough turned into a painful one so I know I need to avoid pushing myself or passing it on. I've still got my scheduled cleaning stuff to do, and am thinking of doing the prep for the Thursday class while it's fresh in my mind.
DH seems to have had a good night and isn't feeling so unwell this morning, which all goes to show these things come in mysterious cycles explicable by precisely nobody, but I'm not complaining. He has a specialist team phone call and a GP phone call today, so he's keeping the NHS in business.
I've been thinking of giving my hair a proper cut rather than just a trim: it's been a while and I'm forever getting tangles recently so it's due. So it's goodbye to 31", but it will still be long!
There's also a V1nted parcel to collect and I must do some more listing to capitalise on recent successful sales. I'm also encouraged by having a loft full of stuff that will be a bit vulnerable when the roof is replaced, though the chap says a tarpaulin should be enough to protect it.

Three a day is the key on v#nted apparently
3 -
I'm not sure I could keep up with three a day! However, a couple every couple of days is certainly generating more sales, and I'm keeping going as it motivates me to get rid of excess, and there's plenty of that. I think posting often keeps you high in the visibility charts, and I stick a note in each listing to suggest people look at my other items and bundles are available.

@Cherryfudge - I had a good laugh to myself when you said you have long hair! My visual image of you is short brown curly wash and go hair 🤗 You just seem like a no-nonsense type of person.
It's nice to know that so many of us still keep our hair long(ish) - I've just recently taken 4" off the length and relayered it, so am feeling decidedly tidier. Slightly longer than shoulder length and still long enough to throw up a ponytail when home and doing chores or gardening, I do however have to stick some colour in it as is seems to be at 25% grey these days, mostly at the temples, which really shows when tied up!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I love that, @rtandon27 , I am quite happy with short brown curls. Definitely Hobbit blood in here somewhere.
Yours wasn't what I imagined either, I thought yours would be really quite short and no ponytail in sight, so possibly I've passed you in the street and not realised. 😊 You have less grey than I have, by the way. 😁
Well, the morning has been quite productive, though no new listings. A load of washing is just finishing - including some shorts that are destined for listing - the hair is shorter (like yours, 4" gone) and I've been through the medicine cabinet and got together a bag of bits to hand in to the pharmacy. Lunch was cheesy baked potato with roast kale, and I've cleared some fridge bits into the compost. I admit I am part of the food waste problem. 🙁 I'd bought spinach and kale that had largely gone yellow, and half a bunch of grapes was mouldy. I keep meaning to give the fridge a good 'bottoming out' and perhaps now is the time.
