Our S00perdrug doesn't have a pharmacy, so there's only B00ts locally that will take blister packs. You'd think it would be a requirement that places that dispense blister packs should also provide recycling facilities as is the case with places that sell batteries (or at least places that sell over 32kg of batteries have to have a collection point where batteries can go to be recycled, and have to inform customers - so why not blister packs? Where there's a will there's a way).

Another beautiful sunny day, and what a year it is for cherry blossom…
We went to the car boot sale via the surgery, and the kind pharmacist has sorted out enough medication for me to last till I've had my bloods done in about four weeks' time. No idea why that waiting list is so long when other things seem to happen in a week or two but it is what it is.
We then went past an avenue of pink cherry blossom which I look forward to every year and this time I managed to film it was we went through, so I can enjoy it any time I wish.
The car boot sale was quite busy and I got into conversation with one of the stall holders so I took a while to go round. DH bought nothing, went to the book shop and ended up waiting in the car. However, two stalls were selling clothes very cheaply so I had to investigate. At the first I got a sparkly pink dressing up skirt for DGD, a dress for me and a tee shirt - sum total £1. I'm not sure about keeping the tee shirt but it's in good enough condition to donate. The dress is very lightweight and great for holiday wear. Then at the other stall everything was 20p, so I got three more scarves (!) of which one is Fatface and very smart, though the jury is out on the others. Also some trousers that are nice but too long, and a bit too complicated to take up so they may well go on V1nted.
So that was fun. Back home we had sea bass (yellow stickered at Icel4nd yesterday) with couscous, and (discounted price) vegetables (finished the carrots and tender stem broccoli with a leek). I made a spiced bread pudding, which used up some milk and eggs as well as some bread crusts from the freezer - shame the mixed dried fruit isn't as MS as the rest of the ingredients but it's a nice feeling to have made use of those things, even if I threw out a small amount of milk later for being on the turn. We were very full afterwards!
In the afternoon we tackled the fallen tree in the back lane and finally got through the trunk with the chain saw, which isn't really big enough for the job. We've pushed the 'body' to the side so the lane is more accessible, and I took a few bits for the log pile. These had been cut by someone else's chain saw when the tree split in a storm a couple of years ago, and were just left there once the bit that had gone into someone's garden had been removed. I've also been hacking at the edges of the lawn where there's no proper distinction between grass, weeds and overspill from intentionally planted things. I've added a lawn feed/weed and moss killer to an online basket and am havering about how big the area is and what to get in the way of a spreader. I have a feeling that once the weeds and particularly the moss have gone, there will be almost no green left! However, if I can tackle the grass now, it will have time to grow again and (hopefully) look great for the later part of the summer. I very much doubt if it will be really weed free, but DD had theirs done and it looks good, so perhaps it's worth doing.
This evening I processed a few receipts and DH has agreed we can talk about moving his savings to somewhere that pays better interest, so I'm pleased with that. We went down to the shops for more cereal for him and half way home remembered I need milk, making it two lots of shopping done at dusk.

Sounds like a very productive day 🙂
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
A team member was unwell this morning so I helped with the children's activity: that was easy for me as I didn't have to lead. Then it was home again for lunch (more of the chickpea tikka and bread pudding) before DH went out on a walk and I played a computer game.
After a while I decided I needed to be more productive, so I spent a good two hours working on the gravelled bit of the garden which I started last year. A couple of weeds had broken through near the area I'd worked on, so I spent a while digging through the two layers of gravel and sifting out the soil. Old grey gravel goes in one container, modern red brick gravel goes in another, rubbish in a third, weeds in a fourth and soil in a fifth. Once I was satisfied I had lots of roots out, the grey gravel went back in (I think it was once an ash-based path, back when the house was new), then a double layer of cardboard, then the newer red gravel. It only looks like a very small bit of progress but I measured it and I think I've done two and a half square meters. After that I used some of the rescued soil, along with compost, to fill a planter and finally plant up some garlic I bought months ago. How it's not spoiled, I don't know, though I think the alliums I got at the same time are past it. I have to learn my lesson and not buy things unless I know I have a place for them.
DH came back for his metal detector as he'd taken his jumper off and knocked his hearing aid out. Amazingly, he eventually found it by sight, rather than with the detector. Phew.
He's not so well today: it could be a reaction to a supplement he researched and has just started taking, or that could be coincidence. Sometimes it feels as though anything like a tablet just makes him ill!
We are both working tomorrow, and there are a few things to be aware of for next week:
Monday - work
Tuesday - childcare and possibly meet with my friends in the evening.
Wednesday - small group from church in the evening.
Thursday - working afternoon and evening.
Friday - church cleaning then working in the evening.
Saturday - not sure.
Sunday - I think I'm leading the children's activity.

I forgot to mention that DH also went to take some photos for a charity he helps with. However, the SD card for the camera was nowhere to be found so another had to be bought. While searching, I found various bits of slightly techy stuff, much of which I've no clue about. The luggage-weighing scales have been put to one side to go in a suitcase next time we use the loft.
That also reminds me the hose on the vacuum cleaner has broken so I'm going to order another, which will be £9.99 and the lawn treatment is £14.50. Off to do some ordering then pay off my CC before they ask.
I'm just trying to be productive today so there's washing on the line, the dishwasher is on and I'm defrosting sausage meat to make sausage rolls (it's been in the freezer since January and isn't going to use itself. I think there are three packs and I'm only using one). The bathroom is partly cleaned and I'm aiming to try to remove the remains of stains on a couple of items of clothing so I can put them on V1nted.

Has DH thought that maybe any new tablet is making him ill. They all seem to have additives that make them a sensible tablet size in addition to the item you actually want.

It's a good point thanks @badmemory. Some have lactose in, which we know is a problem for him. I wonder if there's anything else that's commonly added? This latest one is vegan but it may be any ingredient. It's just odd that tablets affect him but liquid medications seem to be tolerated better.

The sausage rolls haven't happened yet, but I did get various things done: two loads of washing, the rest of the bathroom cleaning and photos taken of a few things for V1nted. I've uploaded those this evening, after work.
I collected a pair of slippers I'd bought for DH (V1nted again) - he says they are comfy, though a bit big. The holey ones are in the bin! It's also saved us a trip the shops and a few ££. (And, admittedly, gave me a chance to buy something that doesn't need an excuse).
Dinner was fishcakes, and I've just to make lunch for tomorrow then I really must get to bed.
