The weather has turned nice: sunshine and enough breeze to stir the washing. I've also done a tee shirt by hand as the colour runs, and soaked some bits in stain remover.
The rota work has been done: finding one person who was out of synch has made quite a difference and the thing is published now. Phew.
The dishwasher is emptied and I've had lunch. Now it's time to look at the work I need to do for Sunday, then get changed into work uniform before going to the church. That means I don't have to make another journey and can go straight to work when I'm ready.

I was on my feet a long time today but things got done. In addition to planned items, I had a chat with the person who leads a teaching project, useful bit of networking…
Work was only two hours but that's okay as I needed to sit down by the time I got home. DH was just going out as there's an Easter choir and he had a rehearsal. He seems improved today and has managed without medication altogether, unless you count anti-acid.
Dinner was salmon with pasta, veg and sauce. I finally got down to ordering a birthday present for DGD3 but had to change my mind as someone else bought the thing I was thinking of… I think I will look for a ball pool for her instead. I got a week's Pr1me for 99p, which I'm happy about.

We visited the car boot sale this morning though it was definitely weather in which to wrap up. There were only half the stall holders of last week, and I can't blame them, but it was sunny and people weren't complaining of the cold.
One stall had a number of freebies so of course I stopped to look and came away with a terracotta flower pot, a toddler sippy cup and a curious stencil that appears to be for drawing faces. The plant pot will be used for potting on. The cup is a spare for when the grandchildren are here and the stencil… who knows?!
Later on I saw a stall selling trays of six jars of lemon curd for a fiver, so we got some. It goes out of date in April but so long as it's not opened, I think it will last a bit longer, and DH gets through lots of it. Then I saw a wooden toy that I thought would be good for DGD3 so I bought it for £10. It needs cleaning up but seems to be very solid and in good condition.
DH showed me a wonderful little bookshop that's always been shut when I've seen it before. Second hand books in tiny rooms, and upstairs the children's bookshop, complete with a great choice of toys and dressing up clothes for them to use. Highly recommended if anyone is taking small children out for a few hours in North Yorkshire (though NY is a big place so perhaps I should say Scarborough, Selby and Hawes would all be too far to travel).
DH seems to be getting a bit better each day, thankfully. That's not to say things are right, but he is coping better and getting more sleep. More medical appointments next week.
I'd bought some y/s fish yesterday so we had that for dinner with vegetables and couscous. In the afternoon DH spent some time fixing the kitchen cupboard door but it won't go right. I went back to bed, though I don't think I actually slept. I'm wondering if I'm deficient in some vitamin or mineral which is making me tired, though I know some of it is stress and sleeping lightly. There's a whole list of possible vitamin deficiencies so I've taken a magnesium tablet to see if that makes any difference.
This evening has been spent trying to make a cardboard donkey, as one does. Working with small children stretches the ingenuity! Nearly finished it now.

Cardboard donkey does indeed sound imaginative! Re the tiredness is it worth having a chat with your doctor and asking him to run some bloods to check things like vitamin D, thyroid, iron and so on?
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Maybe a deficiency in vitamin B12? That can cause tiredness.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪1 -
Thank you @Watty1 and @Sun_Addict, I must be due a thyroid blood test fairly soon (hypothyroidism which has been stable for years but perhaps that's changed) so perhaps I need to ask if they will do wider spectrum blood tests. B12 might be an option too - and apparently other B vitamin deficiencies. I don't know how my iron levels are, either, though historically they've been low.
Today I've been really tired but that's partly due to the clocks changing at the same time as I stayed up to make the cardboard donkey! I'm afraid I forgot to take a photo but it worked reasonably well and is now in the activity bag for that story in case anyone ever wants to use it again. The children's session itself had its challenges as we were short staffed due to sickness. There were only three children but two of those missed their Daddies so we had to go and find them.
DH and I stayed around afterwards as there was a meeting for those interested in finding how we can better address those with hearing impairments. Interesting to hear different people's experiences though it was about hearing loss and my problem is oversensitive hearing on one side. However, I feel my hearing's not as good as it was, so I'm taking notes! They came up with some good practicalities and it was very encouraging that the meeting happened at all. It really highlighted that it's not all about making things louder (hearing aids amplify background noise rather than curing the problem and those who lose higher pitch sound lose the subtleties of small noises like 't', 'p' and 'b').
I fell asleep from about 3pm again and was horribly woozy when I woke up, so DH cooked tea though he didn't feel good himself. We had the chicken and chorizo pasta for the first time in a while but threw out the chicken as DH thought it smelled wrong. We had more from the freezer.
Well, it's time to adjust to the changed hour, and perhaps finish my lovely book set in the Borders in 1913 in exchange for a YA one I've just bought off Kindle set in modern China. I also need to get the ball pool ordered for DGD3.

If you have an underactive thyroid you should be having annual blood tests to check it. Nodding off unexpectedly can be a sympton too. Brain fog can happen too. If you have one of "those" watches that give your resting heart rate it will show your resting heart rate decreasing - or increasing if you are going overactive. There are other reasons obviously but you get to know your own body.

@Cherryfudge - I was amazed by my bittyfitty telling me my RHR was high yesterday after a late night on Friday. I rarely go out and also I rarely drink anything but found the effects of a day of poor eating and alcohol really added up! The watches can tell you when something is off, not necessarily why! Am also amazed by the sleep analysis and 'readiness' scores - really shows me that a regular sleep pattern has a good effect on recovery even though I don't sleep for nearly as many hours as I should!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)Original End Date - Sept 2041 New projection - Sep 2038 (reduced by 3 years)2 -
Yes, I get the annual checks - I think one is about due. You have reminded me I hadn't synched my F1tbit for some time so I've just done so and in fact my resting heart rate has increased over the past month, probably stress-related as DH hasn't been well. I have some techniques to reduce my worrying but they don't stop it entirely. Looking back over the year, there is a small decrease so I'll ask about any changes in my thyroid levels.
I'm not sure the nodding off is sudden: it's more or less predictable, especially on Sundays! That's one of the days I have to be up and about in the morning, the other being Tuesday, when I don't have an opportunity to rest in the afternoon, so it's probably to do with that. Last night was really late, coupled with an earlier start due to clocks changing.

Historically low iron might be worth asking GP to check and then asking for the figure and reading on the net as "optimal" and " no disease" are different levels I found last year! (My iron had been low for a while and I checked it with a private test and then things did improve for a while when I supplemented but life got in the way and I never went back for the recommended re-check)
