Some of errands got done, not many though. Both lots of cleaning are completed, and a few items have been bought (bird food, paracetamol and a laundry bag). The bag of blister packs are dropped off for recycling. No time to collect the collectables (talking of which, it's sad to see Denby may be going into administration).
I also spent £1 on chocolate in a vending machine at work - didn't have time to go home and grab my work bag, so no snacks and no uniform. The uniform isn't compulsory but I had to borrow a fob from management to enable me to get around the building. Usually I take the work bag with me to church but this time I thought I had enough time for both. That's probably evidence that I'm not fully functional. Good job it's nearly the weekend: is it really a week since I had my birthday celebration? It's rushed by and my gifts are still unexplored.
However, the cold is improving. Once that's gone, I hope to catch up a bit.

Denby! Oh no. My first house had Denby plates and bowels etc. A boyfriend was clearing out a house and gave lots of Denby Memories. Along the way they all got lost or broken or whatever but that was a lovely morning moment of joy remembering that time and that china. Thank you x
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
Thanks @ladybird1106 , it's slowly loosening its hold. I will stop moaning an a day or so. 😊
Have you noticed how much Denby is still available second hand? Partly because it takes a very long time to break, so the set we invested in (24 items) pre-Covid has, I think, one chipped piece despite daily use. One of a pair of Denby glasses broke after a few years and one of my old (pre-1986) collected pieces eventually broke last year - but when I think how many less-robust items we've gone through in the same time, the extra money was worth it.
And on a vaguely MS topic: I've tried a few ways of polishing cutlery marks off plates and come to the conclusion toothpaste and elbow grease are as good as anything. I'd be interested in anything other people have tried. (B4rkeeper's Friend comes recommended but I don't like the smell).
By the way, I have a 'gut' feeling you have a typo Watty. 😁

I've never bought china from them but we do have Denby cutlery, baking sheets and a dish drainer all bought over the years in the sales making use of MrT coupons. Everything we have purchased lasts really well and is of good quality!

We have quite a lot of Denby crockery most of it over 25 years old, we have only lost a few pieces mainly bowls for some reason.

Interestingly, I had a photo from my sister today of a basket of the Denby I collect: about six items. Did I want her to get it for me? Yes please! So that will be all of £4, which is incredibly good.
I think the cold has given up as I feel much better. Unfortunately DH is still unwell and has a few busy days ahead, including a new system being launched at his work which will be a learning curve for everyone. He could do without the stress as it makes symptoms worse.
He had a long morning with a charity he supports: the local branch went to the national conference on a video link or something. He said it was really interesting, so I don't think it's taken too much out of him. In the afternoon we went out to a café a few miles out of town and for a short walk near there including a churchyard with daffodils and primroses. I've now added Biscoff latte to my favourite winter drinks. I think that was £8.90 with DH's cake.
We called in at a couple of supermarkets and collected my prescription and a parcel. The list of errands is now mostly done. Dinner was a dhal recipe which was okay but not one I would choose again. There are a couple of portions left for another day.
This evening I had another go at reducing the emails and am still only up to 'C'. 3,308 deleted today! 6,778 in total. I love keeping a tally!
Duolingo has just given me a free upgrade for three days, so I hope I can make some good use of it.
