Sometimes the easiest thing might just be to move out and buy a new dining table.  :D

    Early update on the list:

Who knew those box file holders cost upwards of £11 individually for the ones that hold 6 files! I've only put 2 files in so far.

A few carrier bags are 'samosa-ed' and put away. Yes, I have rather too many but at least they are de-randomised.

    The Sunday rota is done.

I think I need today to wind down as I'm feeling nervy, but I won't quiet entirely till Sunday morning is done (I have an up-front part in the Christingle service) and Christmas shopping is all sorted. I've done what I can to sooth itchy skin (no idea what set it off, but scalp, back and legs were vying for attention), and my hearing's gone too sensitive so DH's voice is just pitched wrong (poor man).

I'm going to make tuna pasta for lunch and see if that settles me down.

Haha - our dining table is currently my WFH desk as it's warmer downstairs! - My WFH desk is covered in piles of clothes being sorted as my fall/winter transition happened and nothing got put away as I was full of cold!  Bring on the holidays - one more week and then I can tackle the niggly bits and make our home a bit more cozy and organized to bring in the New Year!

Isn't your other half still unwell, @rtandon27? And with you recovering, you have an excuse for not going all out just yet.

We have just received back the innards of my grandfather clock which has taken months to repair so a hefty chunk for the 'household' budget but well worth it. I photographed the receipt in case it goes astray. DH said it could get lost on the dining room table, but 'mind you, I don't think you've lost anything on there yet, have you?' (I will have done). However, I was able to point out that the 'things' may be findable, but I've lost the table under them!

@Cherryfudge - Oh that did make me LOL! - almost lost some marshmallows off the top of the hot chocolate that I'm sipping!

My cold was a few weeks ago! (so I could have cleared my desk, but life took over) Oh got over his cold and promptly caught a nasty coughing bug so yup - he's still sick!  The state of our dining table is pretty much a constant!  I have been hanging out down hear for weeks on my WFH days!  So half of it is covered in organized mess!

Your DH has been taking lessons from my OH hasn't he?  Just the kind of observation he makes several times a week! 🤣🤣🤣

Ha ha, mine should have 'longsuffering' for his middle name!

Organised mess = a system. (Stands back in admiration).

Which phone did you go for? I’m still on an antiquated iPhone 7 😱 so desperately need to upgrade asap. I’ve researched but still dithering 😐

I've just posted on your thread! My iPhone 7 was much-loved in its day - i.e. till a few days ago. The new one (new to me) is an iPhone 12 Pro so I feel very grown up. No problems so far other than I can't get the hang of swiping up to get the open tabs to appear (to delete them). It was easy on the last phone. I'm also pleasantly surprised that it's the same width as the 7, and only a tiny bit longer, so it's easy to handle for my small hands. It's also 5G, so I'm getting better reception, even in L!dl.

Thanks @Honeysucklelou2:) I was messaging her this morning and they're coming for Christmas dinner, which is great. Still not heard from D and E but I put a message on the group chat in the hope she nudges him into making a decision.   :D

I have the life books here: next step is to make a start on filling them in. Once again the urgent gets in the way of the important.

Yesterday's itches and edginess have generally abated but there's a slight feeling of panic which is partly Christmas and partly having to spend ten minutes 'up front' at church tomorrow. I don't mind speaking in front of people (after all they are all individuals and each only hears once, so it's not much different from speaking to one person) but I don't like doing things I've not practiced.

Meanwhile we have beautiful sunshine and the second load of laundry is in the machine. DH is out doing car stuff and we are getting fish & chips for lunch.

I'll have another look at yesterday's list and make a revised version.
