I got hardly anything else done off the list, just the kitchen floor, a very small part of the cleaning and tidying and then a shift at work.

Tomorrow it's all day looking after the grand daughters, but my friend is working again in the evening so no Tuesday meeting. DH is worried about having them both for the morning so I think I need to be up and about with them. I've not prepared any lunch or snacks for myself but at least there's a supermarket on the way. Wednesday is me and the little one, and hopefully she will feel better than last week so we can get out and about, or at least have a walk over to their house. Thursday is Toddler club but on Friday, when I'd normally be cleaning at the church, there's a funeral. The only time I think I can fit in the cleaning, then, is Thursday afternoon between Toddler group and work. I have work every evening but tomorrow. I am going to be very glad of Friday with nothing planned during the day.

I texted D about a gift idea for E but have heard nothing back so I'm just going to order it.

Oh, and I went back into my CC account and it's weird. The total is right, just as it should be if the two payments have gone in, but the payments aren't there. Not in the statement and not in 'pending'. I'm not going to panic as they clearly have gone in somewhere and it's not saying I owe anything. It just means checking yet again, tomorrow.

I have my new phone! And what's more, managed the transfer with no major hitches, though I had to back up from the cloud as the old one wouldn't update enough. I keep playing with this new toy, though everything is asking me to log in again so I have an excuse: those apps that ask for a login as I reach the till and try to scan them are very annoying. IMO there should be a warning that after this turn, a fresh login will be required: not when there's a queue and poor internet connection.

Anyway... that's off the topic. I have a new phone and everything seems to have carried across fine. It seems to be taking longer to charge, but I've asked a lot of it so perhaps I've used a lot of battery and it needs the calories (or whatever).

We had a good day looking after the grand daughters: DH took them to the swings and I joined them at the library. I'd woken up late and muzzy-headed, which took most of the morning to wear off but I got there in the end. I was pushing the pram in the general direction of their house while DH went to collect his prescription, when I spotted Ryman's were throwing out a lot of cardboard including a giant replica ruler. Despite the pram being laden, I went in and asked if I could have it! It could be a super prop for activities with pre-schoolers!

Of course I got a few grins as I walked it home, but nice ones!

I didn't do well for organising and couldn't fancy my usual overnight oats so I bought bread, cheese and salad on the way. It wasn't inspiring but I also got custard slices and a box of cappuccinos, so that was compensation.

In the afternoon N didn't want to go out but we found lots of things to play. I somehow invented a game where I was an elephant picked up a log (her) and pushing it across a jungle (the shiny floor) to build a house where she was the door post. I then tried to get in the house but I was too big and the door frame fell down. This turned out to be popular though I have a feeling it's politically incorrect. It also gives me bruised knees.  :)

A brought me the new phone and talked me through the initial set up and transfer of everything form the old one. I had to have three goes but I'm happy with it now. I've also handed over one of the narcissus bulbs I've been growing for Christmas. I hoped to give one to each household at Christmas but this one bloomed today so I gave it now to let them enjoy the scent and tiny flowers.

I was tired by the time we got home and suggested a takeaway but DH thought of Southern Fried Chicken which he cooked and which probably saved us a few pounds. No meeting this evening as my friend had to work and I saw on FB that her cat has gone missing. I really hope the cat is okay but she went on Saturday when the weather was so bad and doesn't usually wander far.

P.S. My credit card account has righted itself.

    P.P.S. Did I mention I have a new phone?  :D

     :D Happy new phone!

One of my credit cards does the same thing, balance updates immediately but transactions take an age to show amd there is no pending tab like the others. Quite a pain as that is the points card so I like to clear it off quickly!

Another full day, and I'm weary now. Just one more busy day then I have Friday off.

A dropped baby F at ours before work this morning and she settled better than last week. I was also a bit more organised, but managed to forget to borrow DH's key for their house so that part of the plan nearly fell through. He kindly nipped out of the office to bring it to me and I've now got a copy cut.

F and I went to the library to return three books her sister had scooped up on my ticket, all several years too old for her, and we wandered into a couple of charity shops, coming out with a book for DH and a wooden wheeled duck for F. We also did a bit of food shopping as F has been munching her way through lots of baby-friendly snacks but didn't get a 'proper' meal off me (I feel guilty but she can be choosy and I thought it was better to get some food in her than wait for lunchtime). To the best of my memory, there were lots of breadsticks, two oat biscuits (baby-friendly ones) a pouch of organic fruit puree, most of a banana, a couple of raisins, some malt loaf and lots of drinks of water. Possibly something else. I can see there's not a lot of protein in there but that's a bit tricky due to her allergies.

Today's tea was a pot of porridge but DH got us mackerel for later.

We didn't get back to their house till late afternoon and the new key works well so we had an hour playing there before setting out to collect her sister from nursery. My Fitbit interpreted my speedy pram-pushing as a bike ride!  :D A got out of work earlier than expected and gave us a lift, then DH picked me up from theirs and drove me to work at the far end of town.

I've bought a few presents for assorted people on the big river as well.

    Expenditure:
    Household (key) £9.60
    Housekeeping £10.58
    Gifts £27.37

Phew, time for a rest. This morning seems rather a long time ago: I arrived later than intended to help at toddler club, partly because I was tired and partly because staffing suddenly crashed for the last Sunday morning session of the term and I wanted to let the team know I'd seen the messages - though in the end we cancelled the session as there just aren't enough people to run it.

After toddler club it was straight into cleaning, rearranged from tomorrow. It seemed to go on a long time, partly because I had a couple of conversations along the way, but I'm happy that I did all the main areas, unlike last week. In the end it was about three o'clock and all I'd had for lunch was a banana and bit of chocolate, so I went to the shops and ate a custard slice to keep me going, collected my new top (which I've yet to open) and arrived home twenty minutes before I had to go out to (paid) work. That was enough time to grab a sandwich and move my computer game along a bit.

(Paid) work was okay though I was asked to cover for someone who had been delayed, after I'd already started my planned area. I did manage both as the person turned up so I could leave theirs and do what I originally planned. Later DH kindly gave me a lift home, looking rather despairing as I scavenged a really good box that was being thrown out!  I do like boxes.  :D This is is divided up for box files so I thought I'd see if it makes good storage for mine.

DH, bless him, cooked me salmon and cous cous for tea so I've eaten properly.

Tomorrow we were supposed to be meeting another couple for a meal and to exchange the second travelling nativity but they and I are working opposite hours and we've already done one, so that's been called off.

    Expenditure:
    Housekeeping £15.84

Day off (apart from work  :D but that's not till 4.30) and DH has taken his hobby car in for some work or other and I want a plan to use the day.

    1. Turns out I was right about the box file container: box files fit perfectly so I could have one place for all of them and perhaps include chunky ordinary files which don't shelve very well.
    2. I've been keeping up with receipts over recent days as Christmas and going away tend to be the things where I lose track.
    3. I still have bulbs to pot up.
    4. No laundry today as it's so grey and tomorrow is forecast to be sunny.
    5. I finished the book I bought last week and it's not a keeper so I'll start a new donations bag - talking of which I've lapsed and bought carriers a couple of times recently so I intend to sort out my shoulder bag and put some tote bags at the ready instead of losing them to unsorted Christmas shopping.
    6. I have a pattern for a knitted snowman that DDiL asked for so I hope to start that. Shouldn't take long once I've printed the pattern as I have loads of white yarn in stash.
    7. I would like to say I'll tidy the dining room table, but who am I kidding?
    8. The Christmas cake hasn't been fed - yet - but isn't clamouring for more.
    9. I need to go back into the Sunday rota and get it up to date with the latest changes.
    10. I have my new top to try on and make a decision on.
    11. We never heard back from D and J about whether they want Christmas dinner so a nudge in that direction is necessary!

Enough for now: inevitably I'll edit to add things that come to mind.

No 7 is exactly what I would say & have been saying for too long.  I have maximum 11 days to do it.  I refuse to eat Christmas dinner on my knee or standing in the kitchen.
