  • I would consider an otterbox if you are a frequent dropper. Although I did like the rubber case I had on fishy phone. I would also consider a pop holder thing

Yes, it's omeprazole @badmemory. I need to have another look at the papers - thank you for the nudge. I know I can trigger it with the wrong foods but as those are coffee, chocolate and wheat, I'm not very strict about it!

I assume Otterbox are waterproof? Could do with one of those for my Kindle as I dropped the old one on the bath! Although that didn't destroy it, it reduced the battery efficiency.

I have a rubber case on my current phone and while I don't like how it looks, it works well for those times I've dropped it. Previously I'd dropped it on tarmac and damaged a corner but I suspect the rubber not only protects it if I do drop it (not so often as I'm not running at present) but also gives me a better grip.

Not so sure about the pop holder as I'm a phone-in-my-back-pocket girl - a really stupid habit and one for which I need a decent work-around! Phones don't fit in front pockets and become invisible in bags (my sight can't cope with dark on dark). The answer is, of course, to become less dependent on my phone...

Today is beautifully sunny and the morning has already been slept through, so I'm heating up some chick pea tikka for my main meal and am going to throw the bedding in the wash to take advantage of the sunshine.

  • The fishy phone had a red case which meant I could see it in bags. Another option would be the change the lining colour of your bag so items are more visible. White or beige might look mucky quite quickly but yellow, red or green might help with contrast

    Or get a light-coloured phone/case? Why didn't I think of that?! :D

  • I’m currently in need of a new phone but want one that fits into back pockets. That means I just go for a screen protector rather than a case.  So far it’s worked on my 7 year old phone

Your phone is doing better than mine, INOD. Mine's four or five I think. I spent some time this evening researching the next one... the one that fits my spec best is a mere £500 more than it's nearest equivalent! So perhaps that's not what I'm after...

Today I washed some bedding and put a sheet through the dryer for use tonight. The spare duvet is airing and I did a small amount of ironing, but the day is quite short when you don't get up till an hour before lunch and it goes dark just after four.

Work was three hours: it's crisp and cold and moonlit this evening but I have my 'duvet' coat and after work I'm warmed up and just use the coat, open, over my uniform and I'm quite comfortable walking home. Then of course the house is too hot but DH needs it warm because he's been in a heated office all day and hasn't been exercising.

    Nothing spent.

We put the winter duvet on last night and DH misheard me and put a blanket over my side as well so I had a bit of a weighted blanket effect and slept really well. I then woke up early to find DH had gone to the spare room because I'd been snoring!

My cold is definitely on the way out but I'm struggling to find meaning in the day. Having done all the things I try to do daily, I've resorted to some deep cleaning. The bathroom tiles and window blind are now the best they've been in a while. We are into the season of battling a tide of mould again. :( DH cleaned the bathroom ceiling with vinegar the other day and I've just given it another spritz, but I can see the anti-mould paint is breaking down. It's been there a few years so fair enough, I suppose. Not sure when we are going to get a good day to repaint it, but the main thing is keeping it aired and cleaned.

We are looking after the girls again this afternoon (their other grandparents are visiting till then) but nothing much planned for later as I've not booked any work and my Tuesday group isn't meeting.

I'm struggling to find meaning in the day‘

    Ditto.

Left early for work in the end but had a good rhythm for the shift.

ETA Re changing the colours of case/bag. I only think of these things because my Dad had vision problems.

I'm glad the shift worked out. I find being in a structured environment where I know what I'm supposed to be doing but have a bit of leeway about how I do it, is very helpful.

You will have learned so much from caring for your Dad, and it's amazing how useful it can be. I've been looking at silver phones today, enquired after one being sold by someone I know but it went before I got there. I thought silver or a light colour would be easier to see in my bag.
