My Clubcard vouchers arrived this morning: £8's worth which in one way is a bit of a concern as I never usually spend that much in a quarter. I think it's through using the cc as I've definitely not bought as many groceries there. I've just checked the account and there is £4.50's worth to spend before the end of this month.
Sains also gave me an £18 off first online shop of £60 or more which is a very good offer but again, has limited time so it won't be the Christmas turkey shop.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I've just spent half my clubcard vouchers on my shopping. So annoying to have to do that but for the last few years I have bought my TV papers but it is no longer available. It is hard to believe that some years ago I went abroad on holiday with them only paying the single supplement & the airport supp. They were 4 for one then & now 2 for 1 & much less choice in what to use them for.

I've always found it hard to spend the points - there's not been much I'd like. Even the Denby is limited to certain lines which aren't what I'd choose, though the drinking glasses I got from them, while expensive, have lasted very well. The best value for money has been to pay for a Railcard, which undoubtedly saved a few pounds. They also have the option to donate to charity: I think the Trussell Trust. However, if you do that, be aware they only give face value not double, which to my mind is stingy.
I've done six hours of cleaning today: it's cheaper than the gym! We were short of staff this morning but someone stepped in and had already done lots by the time I arrived. That left me free to do some catching up in other areas. I've also offered to help with the toddler group next week as they are short of people. I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm told it's setting out and putting away, making people welcome and making coffee - all of which I can do. Why do I have the feeling this may be the first of a number of times? I had dismissed the idea of helping there before as 'not really me', but it's a way I could be useful and next week they definitely need someone.
I also heard that someone I knew through church has died. She was older than me and a stalwart of a group I joined way back, before I joined this church. I've not seen her recently due to her declining health, but I hadn't realised how frail she'd become.
DH made tuna pasta for lunch, then progressed with repairing the chicken coop and I spent a short time on the garden in between one lot of cleaning and the other. By the time I got to work the sun was setting. The manager called me over to say she'd been feeling unwell all day but my timesheet had cheered her up: since learning that I don't need to specify where I was working I took liberties with a couple that I couldn't remember. She found it hilarious that 'some happy place' was actually the emergency planning department. I'm so glad our management have a sense of humour! And she's okayed the timesheet so I get paid.
I think half term and Bonfire Night have affected my workplace. Yesterday was flat out and I had to cut as many corners as possible just to get the basics done. Today, in the same areas, there was time for all the basics and a bit more to boot as some areas hadn't been used at all. I assume a lot of staff had a long weekend.
I was quite tired when I finished but was strongly tempted by the thought of cheap bakery goods at L!dl so I ended up spending £17.07. Some of this was baked stuff (most is now in the freezer though I had a doughnut). I also got some haddock in breadcrumbs for tomorrow and another for the freezer, also jam, cereal, sweets for Christmas, onions, lentils and malt loaf. Haven't had malt loaf for ages!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Do you need one of those phones to get the extra points because I have never heard of them. I suppose weighing up the cost of the phone against how many & value of extra points I suspect the price of the phone will lose.

If you have a Tesco Clubcard already, they will be giving you offers somewhere. If you can log in via a computer (Tesco Clubcard - Clubcard vouchers and offers - Tesco) there's a sign-in at the top of the page and after signing in, click on the bit that says 'Clubcard account' you get this screen:
The 'Vouchers' tells you how much you have in Clubcard points and when they need to be spent by, and the 'Coupons' tells you what they want you to spend to add more points, for example this morning we spent £3 on frozen veg because there was an offer that gave us 75 extra points instead of the 3 we would usually get for spending £3.
I'm not sure if it answers your question, and apologies if I'm telling you stuff you already know.
I'm probably not the one to ask as it's quite hard to find what the system looks like from someone else's point if view, but I think you can do it all in whichever way you choose, just as you can use MSE either on a computer or a phone. They do send out paper copies, so if you've not received any, it might be your Clubcard isn't fully registered or they don't have an up to date address. Again, if you can use the links above you can check on your account that it all says what you think it should say.
Good luck!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

You've just reminded me I get my phone data/minutes/texts through Tesco, so that will have been adding to my points, though not massively.
DH is on a different provider and since he started to use H's old phone, his bill has gone up quite a bit. I'm wondering if the phone is still tied to her details in some way. For now, I'm contenting myself with letting him know and see if he can work out what's going on.
This afternoon DH is volunteering so I've sent him off with a bag of donations (out of the house, phew) and am busy avoiding the ironing, searching for the toy stuffing and cutting out frogs for tomorrow's children's group. I should also get a new kettle as it makes life easier.
I planned to mow the lawn again (in November! but it's been so mild it could do with a hair cut) but it rained overnight and we have grey skies.
I will come back to be accountable.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks I had never thought of looking at coupons somehow that had passed me by. I will go & look. The signal is so bad here that the 4 blobs indicating signal is occasionally on 2.
