@shandyclover - thankyou for the information about using the pin cushion/nail mat thingy, very interesting that it's so helpful for some people but I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to try it myself. I'm still suffering the aftermath of this week's visit to the physiotherapist who wrenched me around so enthusiastically that I felt like I'd been run over by a steamroller when I left the surgery. I could barely manage to get back onto my bike, let alone pedal!

Anyway, I meant to say that @Frith's dress and t-shirt look very nice and great product placement with the leaflets and bag there.

This month’s finds so far. 

1. Almost new Weirdfish waterproof coat ( pink flowered) for £10. Had a button missing from a pocket but i never fasten the very top button on coats so i just cut that one off and used it).
2. China vase with a bunch of handknitted flowers in. Cost £2. Neighbour admired them when she came round to collect  a parcel. I just said
 “ yes, quirky, aren’t they. i found them in this little shop in town.” She said “ you always have such unusual things, don’t you. I imagine they were expensive. Hand made things always are”. I said resignedly “ well, they cost more than i would have liked, but I do love them”.
3. A brand new Gerry Weber summer skirt for £6. Probably cost the donor ten times that.
4. M&S necklace £1.50. Already had the matching earrings ( but didn’t know there even was a necklace till yesterday!)
5. Phase 8 LBD in a size too small. £4.50. Again, looks unworn. Will fit me by Christmas 2024!
6. Pair of Dunelm blackout curtains £3. Faded edge on one curtain. I cut the faded 2” off, sewed a new side seam and you wouldn’t notice.

I’m def on a roll this month, though. In May i don’t think i snaffled anything at all. Apart from a 25p Barcelona guide book.

How's this for a coincidence? Found in Aldi last night, retailing at £19.99:

Would match my bedroom perfectly, but I am happy with my £2 chazzer investment. It's uncomfortable for the first couple of minutes but there is value to lying perfectly still on it. Got another good night's rest so I am still happy!

I went into a few charity shops today. I found a black Jaeger dress, a black Boo Hoo maxi dress and a pale blue oversize sweatshirt. I will probably use the sweatshirt at home in the colder weather.

I also found a nice navy blue rucksack with stars on it. I washed everything and put it on the line and suddenly had a thought. The rucksack is labelled Gap Kids. 

My husband said I should still wear it as people wouldn't notice!

Tie a scarf onto it - kids wouldn't do this.

What a stupid week weather-wise!  Blisteringly hot in the week and bucketing it down today and 14 degrees this morning.  Bedale car boot a wash-out but in the afternoon drizzle at Woodfield  C/B I got a nice b/n Next* dress for £2….two squids!!!  Then in one of the Thirsk chazza shops I found a b/n Charles Tyrhwitt(?) ladies shirt in a mauve gingham for £5.

* This reminds me why I prefer to buy well made brands in chazza shops….the pattern miss-match on the bodice will drive me nuts!

Well done on the finds! Could a trim be added to the top of that dress to separate the mis-matching? I like the colour and the print, but I agree it would be better if that were somehow resolved.

I didn't get to a car boot today: took one look at the rain and stayed in! I went to Oxfam in Helmsley yesterday but didn't find anything though I've had nice things there before.

I hadn't been aware of Aspirations existence until I read about it in the local paper this week. Also pleased to finally visit the re-opened Harp store, although I have to say it looked a bit on the sparse side (I like my chazzers to be like jumble sales ). I came away with 2 decent books for £1 each.

A further warning about the bed of nails, not a good idea to lie on it before wearing a backless garment as I found out earlier today. After 20 mins my back looks as perforated as a teabag!
