Sounds like everyone has been very busy sorting out wardrobes etc. I find it very therapeutic to have a good clear out. Did you ever do anything more with your pre-loved clothes business @helensbiggestfan - I think I am right in thinking it was something you were dabbling in?
Not really done much fabbing this week as have been working but have Friday/Saturday/Sunday off so will do a bit of home pampering - hopefully a manicure and a face pack.Healthy eating regime is going fairly well although I only lost half a pound last week - still a loss is a loss and I’m fairly happy with that.
Take care in the cold everyone - think it is supposed to ease off a bit after tomorrow down in the South where I am.3 -
hi Sukey.....yes I do dabble in buying and selling vintage clothing, and also bric a brac from time to time. I haven't sold any clothes recently. The knitwear I parted with this week wasnt really up to selling standard so I just donated the best and put the really worn ones into the recycling. I still have some sweaters to get rid off but I'll hang on till the warmer weather. They are definitely past their best and I only wear them round the house. They will go for recycling. One thing I have learned is that it's best to concentrate on what might be termed the "higher end of the market". It takes just as much work and effort to sell something for £10 as it does selling at £100 so my aim is to only sell really high quality true vintage or lightly used good designer pieces. Fewer sales but better sales. I'm not lazy but there is so little profit at the lower price points that it is hardly worth the effort.I do have a lot of bric a brac that I need to weed out but I'm waiting until I have moved house and then I can decide what to keep and what to part with. I am actually on the hunt for vintage table linens at the moment. I foolishly parted with my nice linens when I flirted with minimalism so I'm going to replace them. I love a pretty table setting with flowers, beautiful linens and nice crockery and glassware. Last year I bought a lovely bone China dinner service for £9, 8 table settings. Quite a find because I looked on eBay and saw an identical one for sale at £130.As you know I'm house hunting. I saw a house I liked on RM the other day, I looked through its sales history. The sellers had bought the house just over a year ago. They obviously fancied themselves as property developers and were trying to flip it for a profit. All they had done by way of improvements was to repaint the emulsioned walls. They were asking a whopping £29k extra for their "renovations". I loved the new colours but not for £29k. 😂🤣.Scratters......I am something of a coat fiend too. I have been quietly upgrading my collection, getting rid of all the winter coats that were made from synthetic materials (apart from the faux furs) and replacing them with pure wool or cashmere. Like you I wear them on rotation, often skipping a couple of winters. I really don't NEED any more coats but I can never pass up on something as fabulous as the one I found today. I do need a new raincoat, I have a black summer weight one but am currently looking out for an all season Burberry mac (or good brand lookalike). It's such a classic look and they are so versatile, especially if you can get one with a detachable warm lining. My last one actually fell to bits.sukey......hope it warms up soon, it was bitterly cold here today.5

Hello Lovely Ladies.Finally........ quitting sugar seems to be taking effect, lost 2lbs this week. 💃. It's a drop in the ocean but it's a start. My knees and feet are giving me gyp so the sooner I lose some weight the better.Gave myself a mini facial skin peel yesterday. Manicure later.I splashed out and treated myself to an electronic back massager gizmo. It arrived yesterday. it definitely helps ease the tight muscles. Not as good as a proper Swedish massage performed by a human but it's ok as an add on between real massages.Fed up with the dark grey skies. I feel like I'm craving sunlight.5

Congratulations on the weight loss @helensbiggestfan 👏👏👏.
I haven’t had a massage for ages - think it was March last year when I had a spa day. Must try and fit one in soon as my neck and shoulder muscles do get quite tight - especially in this cold weather. Not up to much this weekend so I am going to use the opportunity to do a face pack and manicure - I have just been using a treatment on my nails since Christmas and they are looking better now. Has anyone else tried the Nailberry range of polishes? They aren’t cheap but I find they really do last well and they let your nails ‘breathe’.I have noticed this last week that on the brighter days, it isn’t getting dark until about 4.45pm here now - a little promise of things to come 😀.Have a lovely weekend all - whatever you are up to.4 -
Craving sunlight also. Going to give myself a pedicure this morning. My feet are a mess and it seems to be one of those luxury things that never happen! Off to run some hot water to start.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Good Morning Lovely Ladies.Well we have sunlight here today, blue skies and bright sunshine. Cold yes, but lovely to see the sun, even if it's not giving out much heat. It definitely lifts my mood.Had a lovely weekend, nothing special just family stuff, but always a pleasure to spend time with loved ones.Caffeine reduction going well. Each step down gives me a headache but it's manageable. I'm well over half way now, on the final furlong.......Today I shall be giving myself an at home mini spa day. Was chuffed to bits at the weekend when I was able to wear a pair of trousers I hadnt worn in a while, a small win. 😁
Hope you all have a good week and keeeeep fabbing. 💕5 -
We have sun as well. To look out the window you'd think it was spring, but my weather app tells me it is still 1c and feels like -3c. Not venturing out past the bins today. Will do some online exercise in a bit once I've finished all my online admin type stuff I need to do and trying to find a winter coat to order.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Hello fellow fabbers 😁
Still extremely cold here but bright and sunny 🌞 - went for a long walk on Sunday - well it was long for me, approx. 4 miles according to my Fitbit. I am very lucky to live in rural North Dorset so we have lots of lovely walks on our doorstep.
Day off today and I am catching up with some housework etc. so home fabbing rather than ‘me fabbing’.
Hope you are all managing to stay warm in this chilly weather 🥶4 -
Good Morning Lovely LadiesHow are we all. Are we getting more fabulous by the day.😂. Can't say I feel or look better yet. I'm finding the caffeine reduction very hard going, but I'm determined not to give up. I am actually almost there. Just need to stick it out and I'm sure I will reap the rewards. I keep telling myself it will be worth it. I have been drinking regular coffee for over 60 years and tea for even longer than that, so it's hardly surprising I am finding it such a trial. To quit both sugar and caffeine within a three month period is asking rather a lot of myself but hey I am nearly done. Well I have always been an all or nothing kind of girl. 😂.Lovely bright day here although still bitterly cold. Will aim to stretch my legs when it warms up a bit.No real news, just need to keep on, keeping on, remembering the compound effect.
Small tweaks taken consistently will, over time, lead to life changing results.4 -
Not fab, struggling rather with the cold as I live in a rural area and have horses, one of which is on what in human terms would be "bed rest".
I'm single work full time and struggling but on the positives I got up, cleaned my teeth, have clean underwear and have used a moisturiser and my hair is tied up. I dont feel fab but I do feel competent and that is good enough for today. I've had a healthy breakfast and I've a healthy salad planned for lunch.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
