The food / gym elements were, considering your OH being ill,  unavoidable and taking that into account the review shows how amazingly well you've done!

We have had almost 6 months of high food bills for much the same reason, one of our daughters has gone through an operation, chemo and then radio therapy. We've been ferrying her to various appointments etc and even thinking about planning meals was last on the list of things to worry about. Ok we are extremely fortunate that we don't have to think twice about the cost but I'll get back to being more organised when she's well again - people take priority.

Thanks Boodedoo.  Sorry to hear about your daughter - hope she is feeling better now.

It's been a NSD today other than some stuff for work that I'll get reimbursed for.

Another NSD yesterday  really pleased with this as I can't remember the last time I had a run of NSDs.
Will need to do a small shop today but we don't need much - just cheese, bread, fruit and yoghurt.

£3.69 added to the emergency fund (cashback from ch@se account)

£10.04 spent yesterday, stuck to my list and didn't buy anything extra

Also paid off the rest of the balance for my weekend away later on this month and rounded the holiday account down so 79p added to the emergency fund.  Still got over £1000 in the holiday fund so more than enough to cover spends while I'm away.

Today may be a NSD - I'm meeting a friend for a walk after work so it depends if we grab a coffee or not.

Ended up grabbing a coffee with my friend to take on our walk so £3.05 spent.  Lovely walk around the local park and a good catch-up.

80p added to the emergency fund (cashback from ch@se account).

Didn't realise how long it had been since I last posted.

Emergency fund is now sitting at £1270.22  and debt at £218.48

Work has been very full-on over the last week - the residents are fab but we have been short-staffed plus gearing up for an inspection so have been very busy.

Have been re-reading my first diary and I can't get over how little I used to spend on food shopping and energy!  It's been interesting reading various posts about my health knowing that it's all leading to having 2 surgeries and a permanent stoma.  It also made me realise how relaxed I've become about budgeting and how having more money makes me less focused on what I am spending.

Thanks MFWannabe and beanie.  I had planned to pay off the credit card over the next few months as thought the 0% period ran out in June, however, having read through my old diaries it was actually 16 months at 0% not 18 months.  So I can either pay it off at the end of the month or could use money from the holiday fund to pay it off now.  Will have a think but tempted to just pay it off now and then it's done.

£15 spent on tea out with a friend which was lovely and £1.04 put into the emergency fund.

Not having a great night so have been up for about an hour, thankfully on a late shift today.

But since I'm up, I decided to just pay off the last bit on the credit card
