I got mine this morning ordered in online on Christmas day but wouldn't allow me to pick it up until today. We went to the till and they said that this should be £40+ but thye let it go for the £7 something.
  • Took mine out of the box yesterday and had a quick play.
Unfortunately I had bought CHEAP batteries from poundland to try it out
and it wasn't too good. Remote needs to be close and directly in front and
it really struggles to walk. Can't sit up at all. A quick search on the web
shows that this thing needs quality batteries to work at all so will try it again today with something decent. Apparently 2400 nimh rechargeables are good.
Not so sure it is all that good anyway but for £7.99 who cares!
My son also got a Robosapien V2 which is absolutely great and we have had
a lot of fun with already, and a roboquad which is 'interesting' and quite cute.
Dont think I would pay more than £20 for the reptile though, unless you want to terrify small dogs with it! Our Yorkie had to be removed from the room
after she manged to squeeze under the kitchen cabinets to hide.
Roboquad and V2 didn't bother her at all.
  • **UPDATE**
Just tried it out with a new set of Duracell and the difference is amazing.
Now does everything it should and responds much better to the remote (although still not perfect). The only real problem is that it wanders off to the side when it should walk straight ahead, but my son is having a lot of fun with it whereas yesterday he was disappointed.
Don't try to use it without GOOD batteries!
