It's the village!  That's the River Borrow, see down there? Lovely to swim in, in summer, but a bit too fast and deep at this time of year... There's Little Mending up on the hill, but we like living in Much Mending- the shops are so convenient, and this lovely Village Hall...

Laura will keep things tickety-boo while you're on special duties. 
I've started knitting a pair of socks with the sparkly blue West Yorkshire Spinners sock yarn I had in my stash shouting at me to use it! Your sock collection is beautiful, @Laura_Elsewhere. 
I need to stop eating now that all the left over holiday cakes are hiding in the cake tins and I can't see them anymore! Is it just me? If I can see something, I can't resist, but if it's in a tin, I can happily ignore it and leave it for DH to polish off.

Evening All, I dug out the sewing tin and mended 2 items, small hole in OH's merino wool thermals and laundry basket liner. 
All this cold weather and I have resumed knitting squares for a blanket. I have a massive wool stash to get through and like the weight of a knitted blanket.

I got out the crochet again - two and a half pairs of fingerless gloves are sewn up, one lot of trimming to complete and one whole glove still to make. I won't count them till the whole lot are finished as it was always intended to be three pairs for three special people. I've still got to find an elegant and unobtrusive way of explaining what they are and which way up they go.

Good evening everyone, 
just popped I. With a lemon cake for everyone. It is cut up into small pieces so it will go round. 

Sending hugs to all those that need them at the moment. 

No new spends for me. Tho, I am looking at Laura's sock collection with envy. I have been looking a 100% wool socks on line. I have a second hand pair that are keeping my feet warm but I would like another pair or two.

I’m very proud of my thrifty nieces. One got me a necklace and scarf from a CS for Christmas. The other apologised that my present was delayed - it arrived this week, a fabulous cord skirt from a brand I hadn’t heard of (Brakeburn) in exactly the right size and she bought it on a second-hand site, although it still has tags on. So no coupons for either of us.
