Hi @Teadrinker_4, I'd say if it was started beforehand, then you bought the yarn before it was on coupons, but if it were me finishing a project, I'd not only be reverse couponing it, I'd be hanging out the flags and celebrating! Finishing is finishing - there's all the difference between something made in 1990 and one seam left to sew, and the same item once it's wearable.
Nice that it fits you, too.

Just catching up @PipneyJane I know that is scary but my boyfriend's mother had the same some years back. She is now 87 and says she has cancer for the sympathy card when she needs it but gleefully admits that she is absolutely fine and something else will kill her in time but it wont be that as it is in remission. She is a tough old bird and I'm sending good wishes and the hope that you too will as tough and as much of a battle axe as you age.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

8/66 spent. I have had my eye on a waterproof fleece lined pair of jogging trousers to go over normal trousers on these cold and wet days. Ideal for outside work with the horses and dog walking. I really was trying not to spend anything this year but 6 days of ice has finally got to me. On the plus side they were reduced in the sale as winter is over (!) and I got a discount code for signing up and the business paid for them, but, it is still 8 of my 66 coupons gone (although if I run out I might argue land girls uniform for 2024!)

Teadrinker_4 said:Hi everyone, 2 weeks in and feeling good about keeping my 66 coupons.I finished a knitted tank top last week for my OH but it didn’t fit him 😂 However it fits be beautifully! Therefore do I reverse coupon it for me as it was a project I’d stashed away ages ago with wool out of my stash?I would like to see how many garments I can do for my coupons in a year but this was started beforehand?
The 'official' challenge is simply to see if we can manage the year buying only the important clothes and footwear new, staying within the 66 coupons we'd have had in 1942... the various other ideas are people's own individual schemes, tallied separately, so make your own rules up for those!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
January (29): winter boots, green trainers, canvas swimming-shoes (15); t-shirt x2 (8); 3m cotton twill (6);
.
2025 second-hand acquisitions (no coupons): None thus far
.
2025 needlework- *Reverse-couponing*:11 coupons :
January: teddybear-lined velvet jacket (11) & hat (0); velvet sleep-mask (0);9 -
First purchase of the year - two "perfectly imperfect" pashminas for holidays planned in the year. I'm hoping these are scarves at 2 coupons each. I got a navy cashmere one and a seagreen lambswool one for pretty low prices. The navy one in particular should go with some stash busting outfits I'm planning on sewing and knitting. The postage was the same whatever so the lambswool one may have fallen in my basket. Four coupons gone!“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Thanks @Cherryfudge I must admit I felt a little smug when I put it on! 😂 It’s also motivated me to get knitting again 🧶
Think I’ll run a total of all wearable items I make/finish.
Enjoy your weekend all, whatever you’re up to.#17 1p Challenge £125.65/671

10 Coupons used in the Hotter sale - pair of 'biker-style' ankle boots and a pair suitable for wearing with trousers for the office. Not bad at about 65% off considering their footwear tends to last for ages2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Brrrr! Chilly, innit? I've got the fire lit in the old range, although heavens, can anyone recall when we last had the flues swept?!
Anyway, I thought it would be cosier just in here in the kitchen with the range lit, than out there in the Hall with only that stove going. One thing about living here in Much Mending on the Borrow, it does seem to get the weather, whatever's going!
Still, we'll be snug in here. I've brought my mending to sit and do, and my red linen pinafore only needs some hand-sewing to finish it and then I can wear it, hurrah.
@PipneyJane, as soon as I get the kettle boiled, I'll be along- I've brought one of our stone pigs to fill with boiling water and wrap in wool and it'll keep your feet warm for hours and hours.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I love the term "much mending on the borrow" for the house. I may need to borrow that term for mine! Thank you.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Morning everyone! @Laura_Elsewhere, last time I remember was when young Bert was back on leave and his mum talked him into helping us out - must have been eighteen months ago, so they need to be done again. I'm pretty sure Mrs fforbes-Hamilton has her own set of brushes and I have to pop in there at some point to ask her if she's still willing to be patron the children's running club, so I'll ask if she could do us a favour. We'll have to sort out someone to do it by ourselves, though, we can't ask old Ned. He'll never get up from bending to reach this flue!
@Watty1, 'Much Mending' is actually the whole village, not just Laura's place - it used to be 'Little Mending' but we've grown...
If anyone would like a great read, I will edit this post with links to earlier versions, with many thanks to @PipneyJane for helpfully adding the links I'll use.
