Most certainly going to vote today, though it would be good to have a box to mark for, “None of the above.”

We apparently have Screaming Lord Such and Lord Binface amongst others. Spoilt for choice.
Is anyone else now itching to know how Laura managed to get the lovely red mohair off the unlovely woman? Not that I'm the village gossip or anything... and I remember those mohair jumpers from the 1980s. I was so proud of making one and still have it, but I took a sleeve off to remake and now have to reunite all the parts.
Edited to add: it wasn't Screaming Lord Sutch - can't have been. DH tells me he is no longer with us.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@Cherryfudge- she literally chucked a carrier bag across the room at me and muttered- "said you liked mohair- made this in the 80s, never liked it"...!
She was the one, when we were talking about accents and I asked the table of Midlanders how they would pronounce, for example, "F-r-a-n-c-e" (wondering if it would be frannss or frahnzs) and she said loudly "I call it [epithet][epithet]" - and she wasn't trying to be funny or anything. She based her overt hatred of the entire country on having been there twice and both times they insisted on speaking French... er, well, yes!
She was a VERY strange person...
So I'm very pleased to have turned something made by Horrible Bigot Woman, as she became known to me and my friends, into a really rather spiffing little cardigan!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

@PipneyJane thank you for the spoiler warning, I hadn’t watched it at that point.I agree with you, but I think this week there were two obvious candidates who were worse than her. I’m a little disappointed, I don’t feel the standard this year is as high. Pascha and Alex are good but I’m thinking back to the winner of the first series, or Asmaa last year. They just seem to be making some very basic errors and struggling to finish things on time.I’m not saying I would be able to complete a dress that quickly, but I’m very much an amateur. This year’s candidates don’t seem exceptional sewers.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.5

We went to vote on the way home from our coffee morning. I had two messages this morning from our daughters...one said she'd been on her way to work; the other sent a GIF of Mrs Banks from Mary Poppins singing, "We agree that as a group they're rather stupid." A line from the Sister Suffragette song! This film was the single, most influential reason our girls go to vote! They understood from an early age how important it is for women particularly, to go to vote.2025 Fashion on the ration

Laura_Elsewhere said:And when I went out to exercise the d.r. I also wore a bright red short-sleeved mohair cardigan, knitted in 2018 from yarn unravelled from a finished-but-never-worn jumper knitted in the 1980s by one of the most unpleasant women at the sewing group I used to go to- I enjoy having transformed her horrible shapeless thing into a lovely cheerful little fitted cardigan with puffed shoulders and short sleeves
I voted at lunchtime in a man’s green linen T shirt - which is mine, I bought it in Madeira - and gym leggings. Only the top half shows on work calls. There was a queue because protocol needed to be reviewed, a woman had somehow entered with a small dog, which wasn’t allowed. In the end she could vote but only if the person who should have denied the dog entry held its lead by the door. Votes for Dogs!

I have two spends to declare - a pair of summer shoes, and a pair of sandals, both in navy blue. I shouldn't need any more summer shoes now until they actually wear out. Totals will be updated in a minute.
I've been A Good Girl, and went to cast my vote this afternoon. The polling station seems to have been very busy every time I passed it today.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
Fashion on the Ration - 24.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!)6 -
Today I exercised my franchise wearing Laura Ashley jeans - a second-hand find some years ago - elderly sandals and another of my HM t-shirts. I did rather wish I was wearing my newly-altered sweatshirt too as it was decidedly chilly down here in the Far South. The sweatshirt was a recycling-centre find a couple of months ago; hand-made by someone, rather well, in very pretty pale teal fabric with a seed-head print - I'd have bought that new if I'd seen it anywhere - but with the silliest frill on the shoulders you have ever seen. I took my overlocker to it & simply sliced out the shoulder seams, frill and all, as it was plenty big enough. It looks great now & I've had lots of compliments on it.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7
