£2 savers club for 2024

Hi I'm in, been saving £2 coins for many years. It used to be relatively easy (Before tap & dash). However, paid for my last computer and currently saving for the next one. I have around £200 just now.0

Thats a good result DigForVictory. I've started to have some success at bingo again. Seems my usual £2 coin person has fallen out with someone else who goes and is, therefore, no longer attending. So that closes that avenue for me. However, a new lady has caught wind that I collect them and she comes about twice a month on a Sunday and usually has a handful for me. Last time it was 8 coins which made a wonderful difference as finding them has been rather hard work of late.DigForVictory said:Tesco customer services actually changed coins to give me three £2 coins & better still, two are pretties: the Shakespeare skull & St Paul’s! Welcome Keithy13 - you are number 7 this year. It's addictive isn't it - but so rewarding when you've managed to save for something over the year. This year I've been saving for my dentist as had to have some work done. As a rule, I bank everything into premium bonds as that's my emergency fund - it's what suits me. Saved me a few years ago when the clutch and gear box went wrong on my car - the repair money was there and I didn't put anything on card (which was probably a first for meKeithy13 said:Hi I'm in, been saving £2 coins for many years. 4 more in the piggy! Asda customer services shining through, mostly as I wasn’t there to ask where my loyalty points were. A Marconi, gunpowder plot & Shakespeare comedies plus a plain one. I think I got lucky as they’d been making change for the poppy buyers anyway!0

Asda customer services not only recognises me but is rummaging for £2 coins for me. (I am getting used to being recognised as a Scout whilst struggling to put a name to the several years older face!) 3 plain coins into piggy!

New chap on customer services, blessedly unfazed by roll of mints “& lots of two pound coins please”. All plain but piggy fattened.0
-
The usual lady on customer services was sorting out a customer who had definitely had a complicated morning & was sharing it. The rest of the queue was pretty good tempered, and I was greeted with "we haven't got any". Then I'll take my change like a cooperative little customer & wish her all the very best with everyone else. She found 2 £2 coins for me anyway!0

I’m not speculating on what the young said to the lady but he came back with a roll of mints & four £2 coins! One of which is a Shakespeare History (crown & dagger). It may seem daft to fatten the Christmas savings pig this close to the day but it helps refill the freezer as seasonal stuff is discounted to make way for the new year sales.1
