Only £16 for February but better than nothing!
Claremylove, it's a pain not having the cash to swap them for. That happens to me when I go to my quiz night. My brother and friend sometimes have them for me.£2 Savers Club 2024 #4 (£102/£300)

It’s embarrassing. February & not a single coin pretty or plain. I’ll keep trying!0

FigForVictory, I found March slow to come by these coins. Luckily, my son had a stash from selling his eggs so I managed to swap him £20 worth. Without that I would have only had £18!£2 Savers Club 2024 #4 (£102/£300)

Well done DigForVictory. Every single one counts!
I've been doing very well at my local bingo. One lady (who sells the raffle tickets) keeps giving me a bag of £20 in £2 coins. I'm having to keep taking extra money with me as don't want to disappoint her. Alas, all plain but they all still count. So, for me, March came in at a whopping £96. (Shame my winnings didn't come up to the same level.)
Have been busy looking after mum. Pacemaker check, general first meeting with her new doctor and tomorrow, I've taken the day off work to source a new freezer as her current one isn't frost free and, at 84, she doesnt want to be spending a lot of time on her hands and knees defrosting the current one, which in all fairness is a bit small compared to what she was used to when she had her bungalow.
Here's hoping April will be good for us all.£2 coin savings club 2025 #1 £166 (2024 £692; 2023 £754; 2022 £472; 2021 £256; 2020 £358; 2019 £512; 2018 £404; 2017 640)Saving for Xmas 202 £1 a day #4 £365 / £365 3-6 month emergency fund challenge #48 £10,030 Save a penny a day 2024 #32 £ . / £667.95 £1000 emergency fund challenge #232 £1,007/ £1,000 (achieved Nov 2020)0 -
I feel I should apologise - life and cash and so forth just not revealing £2 coins. Indeed, I may have to go to the bank next month or I won’t have Anything stashed for that wonderful time of year…
Hoping my blend of disorganisation and erratic luck is not infectious?!0 -
Don't worry DigForVictory, I've also been awol for a bit longer than planned - so sorry for that. Life seems to have gotten super busy these last few months (typical with the lighter evenings) and, come 9pm, I'm ready for bed. Main job workload has increased with extra responsibilities and some of my lovely small accountancy practice clients are coming up with some interesting conundrums to solve via lots of research (and time) before I can advise correctly. As they say, everyday is a school day!
Mum's mobility has reduced again in the last couple of months. Lots of doctor appts and next week an x-ray. She will be 85 in November so we all expect things to go a bit wrong as we get older but she's finding it difficult getting around.
In between all the appointments, I've been busy collecting all my £2 coins. As always, the bingo group is serving me well (especially with time out from 'work'). Not sure where they are finding all of them as I'm not getting any from my shopping change. Managed one or two in the scout banking but even those seem to have dried up. Still happy to report that I've managed a further £246 since April.
I've taken the decision to take early retirement in 3 years time to spend more time with my husband who is already retired, so been getting my head around all of that and savings goals in place to cover the reduced income. Knowing that there are only 39 payslips to go has focused the mind on what is important, and what is not.
So I have lots of saving to do. My savings pots (£2, 1p a day and £1 a day) will all get put away in my premium bonds at the end of the year - who knows, I may even get a win£2 coin savings club 2025 #1 £166 (2024 £692; 2023 £754; 2022 £472; 2021 £256; 2020 £358; 2019 £512; 2018 £404; 2017 640)Saving for Xmas 202 £1 a day #4 £365 / £365 3-6 month emergency fund challenge #48 £10,030 Save a penny a day 2024 #32 £ . / £667.95 £1000 emergency fund challenge #232 £1,007/ £1,000 (achieved Nov 2020)1 -
Let Autumn turn brightly coloured in celebration - I have Two coins! OK, I (with guile & forethought) bought a roll of mints I wanted anyway with a deliberately too big note & beseeched the youngling running the till for coinage for bus fare & he came through like a trooper. So Piggy is not an empty hollow although as Christmas goes he's a bit skinny, but I plan to fatten him up then feed him through the Asda Christmas savings scheme to gain an extra few pounds.

Oh well done DigForVictory - love your tactics which paid off handsomely. I know what you mean about our pots being trimmer than we would like. My 'supplier' at bingo seems to have gone awol so that 'feed' has dried up at the moment. In fact, I only secured 12 in September
. Mr T isn't paying out either, which is annoying as they've added another bank of self service checkouts and reduced the number of actual tills by 4 so less chance of getting a cashier to think about how many £2 coins they can actually give me in my change!

Tesco customer services actually changed coins to give me three £2 coins & better still, two are pretties: the Shakespeare skull & St Paul’s! Very happy piggy!
