Big hugs to all those struggling. Pleased that the investigations didn't find any lurking nasties @ditty1234 & that things are progressing quickly for you @Toni'sfriend.
@Starlight_at_Sea sending you hugs too, you're juggling a lot! My insurance company said I wasn't covered as I have a 'panoramic' windscreen, but I was recommended by a person living here, to contact 4utogl4ss. They ordered the windscreen & sent to the nearest repair person, I just had to pay £139 (had new wiper blades included in this price too). When I looked online, a second hand windscreen on 3bay was £199, before factoring in delivery! Might be worth phoning & seeing if they can help you.
Tired today. Work went well, the teacher this morning was quite impressed with my quick thinking & how well we'd worked together 😊 Spoke to a few different members of staff before coming home, including our ex head teacher, who was doing relief teaching.
DH said he'd had a call from a local.dictor, asking about one of his tablets, as staff in Aberdeen were enquiring. From this we're thinking that something has maybe shown up in his blood tests yesterday.
DS1 had requested that we play Top Trump's, so had a game before tea, then practiced Norwegian.
After tea, I repaired a skirt & was going to out a new zip in a coat, but it wasn't long enough, so hand stitched holes in a mesh/net sleeve.
Had a nice soak in the bath & read 3 chapters if my book.
Grateful for DS3's prelim going ok today (practical cookery tomorrow), the morning going well & quickly, the NHS, laughs with colleagues, games with DS1Use it up, wear it out

Thanks for the handy tip Thrifty, I'll try them over the next few days. I hope you have news soon re DH and that it's of the good news variety. What a lot of difficult things in every direction, sending hugs, cakes and sunshine, take your choice, to all. My mind is a little fuzzy too grandmanerd, but your ideas for a gentle February sound spot on!
Got through today! As am up so late am waiting to see if pay goes into account tomorrow, I think it should do given the way days fall this month. Can't quite believe we are nearly at payday alreadythough simultaneously January has gone on and on and on.
It's my last working day of the week today but I will be logging in for a few hours tomorrow first thing as I have one meeting it's in my interest to attend and something I will feel better to get off my to do list. Then we plan to visit the hospice as we have a cheque for them and dad is keen for lunch in their cafe. He is also after shoes in the nearby town but i'm not sure if there are still any shoe shops that sell his kind of thing there, I need to do some research.
Some lovely things today: lots of progress on something tricky at work and a nice chat with a friendly colleague, I got my hair coloured and a blow dry, used a voucher from one of my mum's friends they gave me after mum died, such a kind thought. It cost me £13 after the voucher, and I also have a credit in the account for £35. When I got home my bff-cousin sent me a 20% off code for nails at the same place.
Went to another cousins for tea and enjoyed a chat. Her mum had my dad round for dinner in a parallel turn of events, quite amusing! Am off to bed now in my own place, it's blissfully quiet x

Right - glad I have taken a day off to destress, catch up and potentially recover from yesterday, but that now seems done. So ahoy. Ready for an other day. Got paid yesterday so have paid and over paid various things. Incl. my energy, where I have a low monthly payment, so I top it up when I get paid, to make sure it doesn't go under what's needed when the bill goes out later in the month. Paid my water, the back end of an old tax credits overpayment. All this before I start a major HMRC ordeal have written the tax inspectors and am about to call them now, to ask for advice.
Happy sunny Friday.

Oh dear, off my daughter and I went to a local hospital (about 30 minutes away) as she had an appointment for a biopsy. Unfortunately the appointment is for next Monday, doh!
Gratitudes:
The weather has been beautiful all day, wall to wall sunshine although a little chilly when the sun started to go down. Nevertheless, a glorious sunset!
DS had some good news about his job, boss wants him to do some courses to enable him to climb the ladder!
My brother and I are making positive plans for our step-mum's ongoing care.
Lots of Love to all the Turtle crew xx12 -

Another positive appointment. I went by taxi as I was travelling at the tail end of the morning rush. I have a lovely new machine with a simpler cleaning routine, I spent some time discussing various health issues and she's going to send me a link for an online course to help with weight loss (it sounds like a CBT type thing, retraining your brain and it's relationship with food). I went to the on site newsagent and picked up my large print puzzle book, I've signed up for a wee direct debit for the air ambulance (may cancel in a couple of months - they wouldn't take a one- off donation) and went out of the front entrance to the bus stop. I only had to wait 3 minutes and read my book all the way home.
Came home, ate and I've had a little nap and just written the February challenge. Going to eat again then sleep some more. Grateful for the NHS, a new machine, a bit of an adventure and easy food11 -
Huge thanks to apple_muncher for January's challenge - my first challenge ever despite being a 'hanger on' for many years. It has been a joy to feel part of this wonderful 'bale' of turtles (collective noun for turtles apparently!)
@grandmanerd Can't wait to start your February challenge! xx11 -
January has been rather hit and miss, so apologies for not being very present. Pip has had a right rollercoaster of a month but we now have the magic green piece of paper that means the chemist will give us some happy pills for him. I love our GP ♥️.And because my life, emotions, etc are so closely linked with pip's, I've not felt like coming on here very often.Today I am grateful for getting an emergency appointment with 'our' GP, for Pip deciding which A levels he wants to do, for DH changing the beds, for doing some sewing whilst watching TV, for the space we now have downstairs after clearing up a lot of gubbins a week ago.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!11

Sending hugs to all those who are going through the mill it supporting someone else who is.
Pottered a little before work, to save DH from doing things. Had a good day at work, then waited for a customer dropping some sewing off. After 1.25hrs, I messaged to see if she was still coming, to learn that she was ill, so wasn't coming! Took DS1 to collect his car from the garage.
Washed the dishes after tea & watched some YooToob videos. Measured a moses basket up, ready to make some things for it for a commission. Practy Norwegian, then out a film on, did some knitting & had some chic & a little drinky 😉
Grateful for chocolate as payment for a quick sewing job, work going well, time to knitUse it up, wear it out
