Hugs to everyone having a difficult or worrying time, especially those relating to health or family.
Went back to the local hospital about my finger that still hasn't healed from Nov after I got a huge chunk of glass fibre in it. X-rays still show nothing. Referred to my doctor. It's not painful but just keeps bursting open and bleeding everywhere.
Called back in at a shop in town after I accidentally left a bag of Brussel sprouts and newspaper on their till when I bought 2 curries yesterday. Not handed in so I hope someone enjoyed them! Hope this won't be a new trend of leaving/losing things.
The kettle seems to be on the way out as the lid nolonger wants to open which makes it difficult to fill. Will put it on my list.
Treated us to some fresh mango slices to try and stay off chocolate. Still on NSD4 I think.
Contacted heated electric throw manufacturer about mum's throw that has packed up. Found the documentation and took some photos that they requested and will email those over tomorrow. Fingers crossed they can fix it.
Grateful for a sunny day and blue sky, not having to have my finger cut open, seeing the birds on the feeders, the squirrels scampering about and some little clumps of snow drops. X

Things seem to be moving quickly now for my brother. He has several appointments over the next 2 weeks, first one on Tuesday for an iron infusion. He is ok in himself at the moment, which is a blessing. He asked if one of us would take him shopping on Monday, so OH has volunteered for that. He is coping much better since the small op he had a couple of weeks ago.It was frosty first thing, but quite pleasant now, so OH and I tackled a bit more of the dead / dying conifer hedge that we are taking down. Slow progress, as we are disposing of most of it in the green bin, which doesn't have a huge capacity and only gets emptied fortnightly. Another couple of emptyings will do it I think. I am keeping the thicker branches and trunks for firewood (for next winter, will need drying first, but waste not want not!) A bit frustrating as I would like to finish it now, but waiting will avoid having to put it in the car, go to the tip and then having to clean out the car. It will look so much better when done.DD2 and the littlies will be round after swimming lessons, and I have made a cake as they will no doubt be hungry after that. I want to sow some broad bean seeds I have found, not many but want to use them up. They can go in pots in the greenhouse to start with.Grateful today for nice weather, getting a few bits done in the garden and my brother being ok at the moment.((Hugs)) to those who need them.12

Dawn - So glad to hear your brother's appointments are coming along and he's a bit perkier. I'm finding myself in the same position. When the appointments start coming in you feel something is happening it does make you feel a bit more in control even though it is still a scary position to be in.
Yesterday was a long day. Amazing how tired so feel after just sitting around doing nothing. I had made a curry for dinner but Himself suggested we just phone a takeaway because I was a bitty stressed. Curry in freezer for when we need it!
So, made a huge bolognaise sauce today. Making lasagne tomorrow. Getting ourselves really organised.
Now the cooking sorted I really need to go ahead with the housework.xxxx
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.12 -
Hi Turtles, how are we all?
It is fair to say I have spent a lot of money with the MOVE. I have done it - I have moved. I have my own house on my own, with the mortgage to boot.I feel at home, we are not al there yet but I am here, and its mine (and the TSB's).
I have had 4 NSD's since I last posted, so I think that maybe 8 spend free days, thus far in January.
Grateful for my DD and her partner, they have been extraordinary. A walk around Butron learning about its history (a tour) and a couple of pints.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0

Richard Butron? or the Spanish one?NSD ... who knows!, lost count, all but £30 was on expenses for the last six days. Had to have an emergency sausage sandwich one day, because I was about to explain to the boss that they were a total idiot, and I had to put a sandwich in my mouth to block the words from coming out. Plus it was a 5 minute walk to get it, outside the building - it did not help, but by the time I went back I was able to fake it again. Still want to draw him the diagram though.Had a lovely week, working with nice people, that I like (8 out of 10 of them anyway)Paid off the builders, and now I have to decorate, which should take up most of February while I save up for a fully working bathroom. I got plans! So I have mailed the company to ask for more work. Don't ask, don't get, and all that.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Missionaries came at 7:00 as promised and filed 7 bags of tree cuttings and weeds from my back yard! Paid them in candy bars and oranges. Then my dog Bella came for a visit. She was really happy to see us. Signed the papers to make the new owner official. We will still be visiting with her at times, but she is doing better where she is - getting dog walks twice a day and trips to the dog park several times a week - as well as living with two other huskies she can play with. Worked on the computer while the garden was being worked on. Still have 50 pages of extractions to type into the computer for the parish I am indexing (still need 1557 to 1588 done - I have been working backwards).
Have done 1588-1644 already. Have also done part of another film for 1644-1709. Next step tying them together in families in the giant family tree I have done for the parish and related people - 11900 entries already and no "related" people. My spare time is sort of used up for awhile.
We got the new phones yesterday - and I even took care of listening to the messages this morning. Haven't done that in a long time - our old film would never take messages, even though it had been set up to do so.
Back to the pharmacy again today. Called to say more pills are ready and G needs them as soon as possible. Probably call with someone else's pills tomorrow.
Finished reading a book this morning. Will return it tomorrow - and donate the rest of the series that I have at home to the library book sales (20 plus books). Might be the way to clear things out - one author at a time.
They are expecting torrential rains next Thursday and Friday, so need to be prepared. Hope they calm down before they go your way. Stay warm and dry if possible.

Congratulations DrCarrie, a place all of your own!! 🎉🎉🎉Today I am grateful for getting pip's prescription, for good coffee, for bumping into a couple of neighbours and having a chat, for the snowdrops showing their faces, for getting my steps in despite being inside most of the day.

Welcome to your new home @DrCarrie. May its walls ring with fun & laughter! 🎉🎉🎉
So pleased your brother is doing better @DawnW & you're feeling a bit more chipper @Toni'sfriend.
Yesterday was NSD#15
A wet & windy day here, cleaned the bathroom, then waited for the architect to come. He thinks our plans are doable, going to go away & rejig his initial drawings.
Headed to town with a few stop offs on the way, sewing, then clothes for DS1 to wear to a party, then collect sewing, & finally drop off a stool. Finally collected mum, dropped off & collected more sewing, bought materials for a few sewing jobs, then hit the supermarkets. Spent my free £10 off in L1DL + £8 to get my 10% off, then went back in & did my big monthly shop. Didn't need a huge amount in T0sco but used the gift voucher I'd bought, that had £5 on it 😃 took me 10 trips to carry it all in, no helpers today 😓 was shattered afterwards!
Put all the shopping away, made a birthday card & practiced Norwegian. Started a new series on Prime & did a couple of rows of knitting, they're taking a while to do, as I have to count & change colours as it starts at the yoke & works down to the rib!
Grateful for getting all my errands done, mini eggs 😋, saving £35 on all my shoppingUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

@FlyingBy - I have a Fitbit. ☺️
Good luck with sorting out what you need.
Alas, a fail in my desired NSDs for this month is on the cards.. Will do better.
Accidentally overstayed in a car park today by an hour, so we may have a dreaded letter soon. Hopefully we can appeal the inevitable fine. Gah!!Keep reading books!
