Good evening 🌘
Good luck tomorrow DawnW - hope it all goes well.
Hugs Toni'sFriend - sounds really frustrating. You can always vent here as much as you like. Chaise-long is yours!
Hugs Flyingby - it can be so stressful with elderly relatives. I hope step mum makes a good recovery.
Grandmanerd - so glad you have your cable sorted.
f0xh0les - you'll have to post a photo when it's all finished. You're doing a grand job!!!
Spent the day with parents and took Dad shopping. Am very proud as have managed another NSD - that's two on the row which is a personal best I think of late 🤣 Cosy evening in for me.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Amazing manager and staff at Mum's care home
2) My meal-prep when I got home and cba cooking lol
3) Coming home to my cosy little home

Your break sounds like just the thing @Toni'sfriend and I'm glad you are seizing the day and booking it rather than waiting in limbo. An inspiration to me as I realise I am waiting in limbo for lots of other people's plans just now! It's very understandable to be frustrated about the time it's taken for the medics to get to this stage.
Glad you are reconnected @grandmanerd and that phone turned up. Mine has managed to limp on today but I fear is so fragile it's not really very portable any more, so I do need to look into replacing it. A Tuesday onwards job I think. Thanks to the god of screen protectors, as this one really has done it's job well!
Today has been a much needed R&R and pottering around by myself a bit at my place. I don't get many chunks of time there or time alone from older relatives but am trying to make sure I go up there on a Sunday! I get half price elec 11-4 so it's a good time to have the hot water on for a bath, hoover, and cook something that is not to an 88 year olds taste! Today has been all leftovers from the fridge and freezer, and the phone being fragile has limited any online purchasing, so I think I'm safe to say it's a NSD. 3/7 so far!
Xmas decs all down and sorted out, some rehomed to charity shops or bagged and bound that way and a bag packed in response to a local charity advert seeking them to make Xmas crafts with local kids next year. The drop off point is on a walk I have been meaning to do for ages, and after yesterday's long and eventful trek I think I am well enough to do this later in the week. I have repurposed some of mum's many clip lock boxes for medication to use to protect the more precious baubles, so she'll stay a part of future Christmas activity.
Now back at dads and bracing myself for work tomorrow. Online, I don't have to travel in, and I have some leave coming up, so 'just' need to race through all of the essential-to-do-before-going-on-leave.

@Toni'sfriend it's understandable why you are angry. I'm glad you've booked a trip to Edinburgh, it's a fantastic city and the change will do you good.
@DawnW hope all goes well with your brother's op homorrow.
@Starlight_at_Sea hope you're ok after falling in the mud.
Got up early and loaded broken plastic flowerpots, broken sheets of glass and various small dead electrical items into the car to take to the tip. Very nice tip man helped answer my queries.
Came back, got my craft stuff ready, my fridnd came over and we cooked some sausage rolls and had them with green salad and potato salad. We then headed off to our free craft class and spent 2 hours making pretty material flower brooches. Great fun with a nice mixed group of ages. Interesting to see everyone's different designs. Felt really relaxed afterwards.
Finally scored my first NSD, taa daa! At least I will have achieved 1 this month!
Started packing the books out of my bedroom into boxes in the garage to make room for my German penfriend and her teenage son to visit in February half term. He has his final school exams afterwards so wanted some english practice. Busy trying to think of cheap/free things to do while they're here and saving loyalty points to put towards a meal out.
Just about to iron work uniform then go to bed.
Grateful for a dry, sunny day hopefully drying the fields and floods up, my 1st NSD, an enjoyable craft class with my friend and getting the rubbish to the tip. X

Christmas is in the loft!NSD 3 achieved.I hoicked a pile of Swedish Store boxes out of the shed - but no lids! Where do they go?? Found out you can buy the lids online for a couple of quid and have them delivered. Saves a journey to Nottingham. And so another week begins! School goes back tomorrow, so kit shopping must be done today. DS3 is now a size 11.5 of foot. Ratbag! Hope someone else is going to be a big foot, as the last two pairs have very little wear at all.

Brother's op is done, and we are backI didn't know what to expect, but he was better when he came out than when he went in.Lots of money spent on taxis, especially since there was so little information / so much uncertainty about when he could come out / whether he would be out today, so I had to hang about to wait to hear, and in the event we couldn't take up my son's offer to pick us up after work as he ended up coming out earlier than we had estimated. No matter, I am just relieved that I don't need to stress about it any more. Hopefully any further treatment / appointments will be at the local-ish hospital which is much easier to get to, and even has a car park! But if not, I am much more informed about taxis and bus stops!Ooh I am tired though. There was very little space to sit and wait in the hospital. Ended up spending money to sit in the noisy Costa. Now need to cook dinner for everyone, but will be early to bed tonight I think!13

I am so glad the appointment went ahead, Dawn. The lack of information does add to the stress but, at least that's it done now and wasn't affected by the strike.
NSD No 6
As predicted I got a phone call from the hospital today giving me an appointment for the scan right in the middle of my wee break to Edinburgh despite me telling them that I wouldn't be here. Normally I would have cancelled the break but I decided we both really need a little time away so I said I wasn't available (as I had already indicated) and could they reschedule it. I feel a bit guilty after complaining on here yesterday. But since it's now been more than six months I don't think waiting another week is going to make that much difference.
So, today I've done very little. Actually nothing at all apart from watch a couple of new Vera's. Finished book number 2 the other night and I've started another.
Early to bed again, I think. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11
