Three things to go - and I have a Christmas mug at work which I plan to put in a cupboard on another floor in our building so someone can use it (it's been a year so I doubt the person who gave it to me would notice it now, but lets be tactful and not put it in the cupboard on our floor) and two books which I will drop at the bookswap. 

What I haven't yet decluttered is this tomato plant - I have been watering - small amounts as it's winter - but haven't repotted as I keep thinking 'surely it won't survive'. But we're past the shortest day so maybe I should think again.

Biggest Christmas hugs to everyone!! 🤗🤗🤗

I've Been awol far more than I would have liked over 2024. Especially with the last 4 months. Far too much illness and difficulties.
Here's going 2025 it's going to be the best year for all of us.

Before I go to the new thread, I just want to add my biggest heartfelt thanks to Mrs SD, who did the most splendid job of cheerleading us along, you are so wonderful, I really don't know how you keep it up!! 
Definitely you need another golf medal ( I meant gold , but maybe you would like a golf medal too 😂😂⛳) 🏅👌

Just rounding up my figures for today (I'd hate an untidy total ). 

For Xmas my husband had to drive his parent's car to their house to pick them up and bring them back to our house. A long story, but basically he wasted a morning doing this (whilst I had to prep the veg/pots and look after the kids) all because their double garage is so rammed full of stuff they had nowhere to store the car.  Just some incentives for those on the fence... We also cannot visit them and the kids have never been to their house (despite having spare rooms) for a similar reason. Anyway, the less said about that the better..

Last decluttering of the year happened last week with a bag of stuff to CS and a box of books etc to Ziffit (who have now branded their buying arm to match their WOB selling arm). The  box of books has already paid out too so that’s a few more pennies for ‘The Loft Fund’. 

In case I’m not around before NY wishing everyone, and especially Mrs SD, a very Happy New Year!

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks 

2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m 

3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis

4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc

5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Sunday: another dry day but chilly with a high of 7°C. Up very late as it took an age to fall asleep. I spent quite a lot of time fine tuning my post for the 2025 Decluttering Thread & working on my final post for the 2024 Thread - it is almost time to post the final awards list 😉 I phoned the bank & paid my CC bill - all £3.96 of it 😉 & yes I did overpay 😅 DH had a spate of activity - he filled the bird feeders, fed the worms & added peelings to the compost bins. He then made a very chunky soup 🙂 For dinner we finished off all the cooked meats from Christmas Day (duck, venison & turkey which I warmed through in chicken gravy) served with oven chips & baked beans. Wudupa.

360 - 366 Kitchen & office recycling, drinks cans x 3, plastic bottle, glass bottle - recycled 

367 - 370 Kitchen detritus x 3, lr detritus - binned

I have hit my 2nd target so am awarding myself a Gold Star ⭐️ 

TC77, I keep forgetting how uncomfortable the sofa bed is 😔 Our bed is possibly too comfortable 😉 Great work sorting photos 👏 I completely understand your reluctance to donate the boots but I think  you are on a roll & will be able to release them to a new owner who will wear them 🤞Pleased to hear that DD2 is more communicative from a distance 😊 Good luck tackling emails & more photos 🍀

4 plastic measuring cups 

total 35 = 351/366 - 15 short . I did make a huge effort to hit it with books but to no avail. 

Ah well. I’ll start again next year but maintenance and a focus on stopping stuff coming in. 

Very many thanks to you, Mrs SD and to all those of you who posted kind, supportive messages when DH was ill. This thread and all you lovely people were a real haven to come home  to . 

Sending hugs and hopes for a lessening of troubles next year for everyone and a Healthy New Year. A Happy and Wealthy one would be very acceptable but a start with Healthy and Happy Times would be great.

Hi all, reasonable day yesterday, I gave up on looking for trousers as the local trains were up the wall due to signal problems and staff shortages and I didn't want to drive the car into town, but I did get the first birthday present of the year . I started the veg use up by making a big pan of soup which we had for tea and 6 portions in the freezer. I will be making more today as I have the beans soaking. The lr bin and bedroom recycling were emptied. The bird feeder was topped up.
I have 2 loads of washing on the line as the forecast for today is 10° and sunny with a brisk breeze , and 3 loads on the maiden that should be dry today fingers crossed .I have a small list of other things to do today but I need another cuppa first
