Hello all,
Been a bit MIA - work always gets super busy July thru September due to the nature of the job. Front line ticket sales for a very prominent...business we shall say. I don't think I'm allowed to divulge further on that 🤐 Had some odd days off though, I work 30 hours a week but even that feels like full time when you are busy af! 🙃
Anyway some recent decluttering:
- mini fan that's on its last legs (recycled)
- 3 tops (cs bag)
- 1 shorts (cs bag)
- various recycling (including what was in the indoor bin to outside)
Sorted out car tyres at garage and did 2 x parcel returns. Picked up DMums prescription, along with some new batteries and some Dylon dye for some towels she wants to make darker, lovely shade of dark turquoise/aqua when thats done hopefully.
Also have dispatched 3 x blankets to the wildlife charity today, pleased they are on the first part of the journey to their new home. Am in the midst of crocheting the next blanket and have a scarf for one of their rangers half finished too. Discovered today that I have way more black wool than I thought I did (found 3- 4 balls!) so thats a project to finish when the blanket is complete.
Re: the dirty next door neighbours that some of you may remember me mentioning - council refusing to get involved and tbh I lost my rag a bit on the phone with them last week. They are saying it's a civil matter - so I give up!! 😡 they weren't blooming listening to me anyway when I did speak to someone working the "case". Kept interrupting me when I was trying to talk and that really wound me up. I'm fairly certain that because I look young people just think I'm being a brat but actually I'm in my 40s and just trying to do the best by my mother for the both of us. Sorry to vent but I'm really tired of fighting for a decent way of life all the time.

Hi all, awake with the sunrise again this morning so having a cuppa and a catch up
@Mrs SD OH is a very sociable person and has several different groups of friends so the birthday celebrations usually last about 2 weeks
@London_1 great work getting unpacked so quickly and I think it's an excellent idea to pass on the boxes. I don't think people realise how many they need when moving and how expensive they are if you have to buy them.
I did get into the garden yesterday and filled a builders bag with bits of bramble and other stuff which filled the garden waste bin. The bin is currently waiting curbside to be emptied so hopefully I can do a bit more today. Went to a local garden centre that is closing down and everything is half price. I resisted all the plants although I was very tempted by a damson tree and some really gorgeous ceramic pots. I might go back for one of the pots for an upcoming birthday gift for a gardening friend. I did get some bird food things and some packets of seeds that are in date until 2027 so I am hopeful I will have got on top of things by then. I used to grow a lot of things from seed when I first got interested in the garden but over the years I just didn't have the time except with the pupils in school. One of the long borders at Tatton inspired me to try it again and I have dug out a tin to keep them all in
. The bedroom bin, bathroom bin and kitchen recycling were emptied and I deleted 200 emails after tea. I have been getting slack with those and they are building up again.
Today I need to sort out my car insurance. I think I will be staying with my current company as I don't automatically renew but the quote is the lowest I have seen. I think now everybody can do the online searches themselves if you don't automatically renew they know you will just move if they aren't competative.
Ok off for another cuppa and a ponder of what to do first, it's a bit cloudy with a few spots of rain atm so not the garden just yet. Hugs to everyone who would like one
1044 garden waste
1045 kitchen recycling
1046 bedroom bin
1047 bathroom bin
1048 & 1049 200 emails permanently deleted
Take care everyone

Two viewings yesterday and I like the second one very much. Needs lots of decorating work and very dirty (rented for years) - garden is blank canvas with weeds and overgrown grass but flat. New bathroom and kitchen and possibly windows needed but I like the area. DD coming up Thursday with a view to making offer. I will go to EA this morning to ask a few questions. The other two I have seen were stuffed to the gunnels with stuff. Both a little too big as well and gardens, whilst nice, had lots of changes of level, trip hazards etc and I do not want to have the expense of hard landscaping. Buyers have booked level 3 survey on my property so hope there are no unpleasant surprises.
800 Finished home insurance frog
801 All July cards posted - some of August bought
802 Chiropody visit
803 Calendars updated for children for next few months
804 Dentist appointment booked
805 Ornamental lantern to CS bag
806 Bag of stuff drop off at CS
807 DS2 sorted random stuff in garage and there is a bag of bits to go out
DS2 suggested I take a room at a time and assess stuff according to whether I would unpack it at the other end when I move and if I would ever use it. On that basis I sat in an armchair looking at a nice small decorative lantern with candle collecting dust and cobwebs on top of a bookcase. No idea why I have it and never used - I took it down in a cloud of dust, gave it a quick wipe and put it in CS bag there and then. It's a start.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Took a load to the tip for DSis. Still no move date for her but she is mostly packed up now so I can get on with my own tasks for the next few days. Lacking in oomph this morning so willing it to come back as there is much to do …
OH getting on well in hospital although tired and looking forward to his own bed - he should be home on Friday and I have taken orders for the first couple of home cooked meals he would like after a fortnight of hospital food.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -
The vertigo and nausea is wearing, I have stuff to do.I do have Nurse Fomo tending to me though.I wonder if this is the same as the dizzy spells last year when we were on holiday. Will try and get a GP appointment.
The inside of the windows were cleaned recently with some very popular brand cleaner.( MIL) It looks like they have been cleaned with lard! I have bought my usual cheapo stuff from Aldi and would very much like to improve on what they currently look like.. I wanted to sweep the yard too. Estate Agents photos this afternoon..
Our offer on the other house has been rejected. No matter. I wouldn't pay more.I spent the afternoon on the computer and have found only one house with potential within a 10 mile radius. No rush. The market is slow at the moment.
Good news that your Dad is home Nanny, and giving you the run around. It was being contrary that kept MIL going.
Best wishes for all you house movers and also poorly people and loved ones.

Vulpix - I suffer with vertigo and last time I looked up an exercise on YouTube that got rid of it. It was done by an American physio, I can't remember the name of the technique, though! It involves lying on the bed and turning from side to side as they instruct you.
I am still tired from the weekend and from the last month in general. I have had 5 concerts and traveled to Broadstairs and back three times in the last three weeks. We viewed 4 houses while we were there last weekend. I ruled two out, but I like two of them, although my husband thought they were too small.
We haven't had any more viewings on our house and I keep hearing that the market is slow.
My husband has just gone to take the donation bags to the local charity shop. I went through my handbags and have donated four of them along with a pair of sandals that I find uncomfortable so there were two full supermarket bags to take.2025 GOALS

weenancyinAmerica said:@vulpix - Does the Family Bible have family information in it (especially between the Old and New Testaments)? There are several archives and libraries that collect the information from Family Bibles over here even without the Bible itself. When we had Bibles donated to our FamilySearch Center, we would copy the pages, plus the title page and date page (if there is one), and turn them in to the Archives covering that area of the country or the Daughters of the American Revolution library (collect all Family Bible records no matter the time period) plus the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. The local archives where your family lived might like a copy and the Society of Genealogists in London might also. The Family History Library in Salt Lake would also like a copy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thank you for the tip Wednesday. I will definitely look into it. I am at a loss for what to do. Tried the GP surgery for the second day. Nope. Try again from 6am tomorrow.House photographed. All good. Think next door is sold already. I did shut my eyes and cleaned the worst window and Mr V swept the yard a bit.Binned a vase. Put flowers and water in it and discovered a crack in the bottom.I am loving watching the wrens feed their baby. We only found one egg on the ground so assume there is only one chick.🐣 Fluffy has also discovered a keen interest in ornithology, she can’t get at the bird box but she has tried. 😾
