Hi, can I ask where you've found rhe Swedish death cleaning programme? I recall reading a similar book but need something to help me speed up the process.
I do still focus on trying to recoup some sunk costs or thinking something is junk when it's a forgotten treasure. My kids really aren't interested in any of my stuff or family history more than fleetingly ! I don't want to burden them with stuff and know they won't thank me!9 -
So, I received a parcel today which made me cry. Thank you so much Mrs SD for the beautiful sampler you have made to honour bit by bit’s friendship. I will treasure it. Bit by bit would have loved it too. 🤩❤️🌈Xxxx.Lovely photos Granny Kate. Good luck with your house hunt. Fingers crossed for you. 🤞
dND, I feel for you with the renovations, it does seem endless. The muck, the mess, the uncertainty. My cats are my worry in undergoing another renovation. We can't quite buy outright and live here till it's done as we have lent DSD a lot of money. With the RSJ My builder knocked a hole in the side of the house and fed it through the wall from the back of the delivery lorry. He made good and you were non the wiser. My builder has the building regs people round all the time. Belt and braces guy and I like it like way.Is the Swedish death cleaning programme on Sky? If so we decluttered it as we just didn’t use it much. Sounds interesting.Been to see Mum who has given me a few more photos. I don’t have many photos so I will just keep them for now. I very briefly looked. Baby Vulpix at the seaside, graduation Vulpix etc.
I told you I was an impulsive risk taker. 🤣Mr V likes the house and trusts my vision. Our house is being valued tomorrow at 3:30. Hopefully we can go and look at the new house again over the weekend. New house is similar to this one but detatched and on a hill which means a pleasant view at the back. Tiny yard and car parking area. Cute little out buildings. Imagine the lanes in old towns, A proper tangle of little streets. A lot of knocking down walls needed. I imagine I would have to wait a year for my builders availability. Bring it on.I am not worried about the house contents in a house move. It’s the shed village that will give me nightmares and my garden pots n stuff. We owned this house before we moved here so brought a car load every night for weeks. One shed is gone and my bike shed is no where near full, so that’s good. Mr V has got rid of a lot but honestly his studio and sheds are rammed. I am thinking about what to do with bit by bits tree. Plant it here where she enjoyed staying or take it with me in a pot.Vx:9 -
@Floss thank you, just debating what i can part with and posted photo of a purple jug to see if either Dd want, a category I find hard to part with but decided one over full glass cabinet I'll take out what I don't like. I can hear someone saying why do I have things I don't like ( particularly) usually either I liked at one point, were so cheap they became attractive
or I was given / inherited them!

Lots of surplus glassware got donated despite its prettiness as I had too much, and lots of unused baking stuff has now been passed to those friends who are bakers after being stored for over 5 years. I just have 1 box of cake tins and 1 box of decorating cutters (for making various flowers) left.
I'm lucky that all my inherited stuff is things I chose or were given to me by my parents before they died. The things from the ex-inlaws all got left in his house for him to deal with, but it can be a struggle to let those go without guilt.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I just realised on my way back from swimming that absolutely everything I decluttered today was actually given to me from my parents. I guess that is the issue then…. I am getting rid of all my stuff plus all my parents stuff. Goodness knows how many years of stuff that is altogether..2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Tc77 one of the Swedish programme deals with a lady who has loads of stuff she doesn't like (through gifting or inheriting) and the guilt about throwing out, but the cleaners said quite a profound thing about that. I'll leave it till folks have had a chance to get to that programme. (I taped the first one then its been downloading them for me so I'm quite a few in)
Vulpix (that embroidery😢
) re the tree can you take a couple of cuttings now, then they'll have time to root so you can have a bit here, a bit there? Good luck with the viewings/valuation
