Hi, Ionafan and Daisy, thank you. I've found it and started watching.
I've stopped bringing things in (.mainly) and picking up free stuff , identifying where fear of scarcity came from, but I don't want to accept stuff I have bought / inherited is really rubbish.
I think the woman in the first programme early on said something similar.
I like the idea of emptying a room and only putting back the things I want- the dilemma the is that while I don't want the things in that room I will struggle with passing some stuff on.
This lovely group though helps tackle these matters with sensitivity, humour and encouragement.
Just to say tlc carriage is well stocked with flapjacks, cake , scones, fruit and cam rustle up any special requests. X

I decided on laundry 😂 First load of washing is done & hung out on the whirligig as the sun is shining & there is an occasional breeze 🙂 I have also swept the kitchen floor & wiped down a few grubby kitchen cupboard doors 🙂 2nd load of washing done & now in td + have put away the last few bits of DH’s overnight bag. DH has topped up the water bowls & filled all 4 bird feeders which were completely empty 🙊 I have done a few rows of knitting & am now cooking dinner - chicken in a creamy bacon & cheese sauce, mash & peas for DH & DSis. A portion of last night’s spaghetti bolognaise (baked) for me. One portion of spaghetti bolognaise & one portion of bolognaise sauce being put in the freezer. Currently not doing very well on using up freezer contents 😔 Wudupa. Washing dried outside so now folded & will be put away tomorrow aka later today 😉 DSis & I have just started watching Series 2 of “Suspect” It stayed dry, warm & sunny all day with a high of 24C 😊 & is supposed to be even warmer on Thursday 😊

GrannyKate, love the tale of Ginger William 😊 Presumably he thought empty vases were more aesthetically pleading than full ones 😂 Fingers crossed for the viewing & hope the house meets most if not all your requirements 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏

Lots done off the to do list yesterday. No decluttering as such, but it all helped my home feel better, and the clutter in my head has reduced a little.
Off to help DSis today so won’t be able to get any of mine done.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅9 -
@TC77 That's what I'm using moving house as an opportunity to do - start with an empty room and only add in the things I want / need. We've got rid of a lot of things but I know there's more that could go but don't really know what until we move if that makes sense. One thing I realised through the staging the house for viewings, is that I really like clean sight lines, with no clutter out on the sides, just things I really love and treasure on display for the world to see. That's something I want to carry through into the new place.
@vulpix good luck with the valuation and hopefully a smooth process on your next adventure. I love the suggestion of taking a cutting of the tree and leaving some at your current house and taking some with you to the new house.
Some good news that we've finally managed to get the sellers to agree to letting our asbestos guy come in and replace the ceilings between exchange and completion so that will be one less dusty job to worry about. We also have an electrician lined up who can do some of the rewiring while the ceilings are down so again just keeping all fingers crossed that we can pull this off in the very tight timescales we have.

Good Morning, all this house moving talk, I love it. So I have properly slept on the idea and woken up still up for it. That is always my litmus test. I always go with my gut feeling, the times I have over ridden it I have lived to regret. (mostly men!)
I wrote a long post, lost signal and the post. That's the trouble with these pesky hills in the way. In short, I had a Ginger William too, granny Kate. Also known as William of Orange and Billy boy. I love a ginger Tom, they are characters. Why do we give pets several names? Fomo is also known as Fomopotamus amongst others that I can't repeat and Fluffy is Foofus amongst others!
Thank you for suggestions about bit by bit's tree. It is in a big terracotta pot so I can take it with me. It will have masses of orange berries later in the year so I will plant some up and grow some saplings that I can come back and plant in the wood.
We sat out with our neighbours last night. I have always known them as you know everyone in a small community but have only known them well since we moved here. I couldn't ask for better neighbours. I will miss my bin monitor, I haven't put a bin out or brought it back since we have lived here. When they went on holiday they had to leave us instructions!
Mr V has gone to his man shed group. He has taken a piece of oak that I want squaring up. I have got an old handle from Mum's to put on it and make it into a doorstop. There have been 2 more viewings on Mum's house but no takers.
I need to go and move stuff off the spare bed. Birthday gifts ready to give and clean towels from my recent visitors. I am not going to make the bed as it will be too difficult with all DD1's stuff in there. I will just throw a blanket over the bed and arrange the cushions. After lunch it's balsam bashing and then shower before the Estate Agent comes. I have known him years and always use him. it will be nice to catch up. A jaunt to Aldi is on the cards later. Rock and roll lifestyle for me.

I call my pets different nicknames. One was called Little My from The Moomins but now I just call her "My!" she doesn't respond to her real name of Princess anymore.🤣 My dog Molly is nicknamed Molly Flanders.
I'm on episode 6 now. It is about a woman with 8 grown up kids who is basically storing all their stuff in her house! They are about to get to the big reveal.

I had an ingenious thought... I've run out of boxes and bags for charity again. Rather than asking the charity to send me more bags, I'd rather reuse. I've asked my parents for empty boxes... should be win, win as I get boxes to go to the charity and if they bring them up, they can't fit as much other junk in their boot. I can at least hope right?!Parents are visiting again at the weekend... deep breaths and fingers crossed for me everyone!Still not really feeling it, but I did tidy up a bit by packing another charity bag for DH to take tomorrow as he has a day off work. My category to go through today I decided was sports shorts given I'm off to the gym later. Tiny category, but it all counts right!2 - paper, reused then recycled
1 - kids outdoor toy they don’t use (Buy Nothing)
2 - sports shorts don’t fit/don’t like (charity bag)New total = 13,889July In: 24, July Out: 702I've been watching some random You Tube house tour videos earlier and I think DH was a bit disingenuous yesterday. I do think we have a lot less stuff than the average where the kids are concerned. DD in particular cares about so little (she's 3) and I've massively culled her stuff (with her consent) without her missing or caring about anything. She is down to 3 dresses in her wardrobe for the summer (2 for the winter). All her stuff very easily fits in the wardrobe plus 3 drawers under it. All her books fit in two IKEA kallax cubes, her cuddlies fit in a single basket in the corner and her toy cupboard downstairs is partly empty. We definitely have more work to do, but I think it maybe wasn't as bad as I thought. Just hard to find where the stuff is as it's probably 1-5 things in every drawer/cupboard rather than a specific area. Just need to keep plodding on...2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I had my second shingles jab this morning first thing and feel sleepy this afternoon. Managed to get various places to do things. Last school run done now until September and DS2 will take them tomorrow. No news back from either of the places I am interested in viewing/buying. Very annoying.
