A murder mystery evening sounds fabulous. I do have a very splendid 1920s evening dress (full length) which I wore for one previously. That could do with an airing…… this is the dress, without me in it! It was an absolute bargain in the sale as it’s beaded front and back. Having it professionally shortened tripled the cost of the dress!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Tuesday was a dull & overcast start. DH was up at 08:20 & I managed to get up at 08:50, partially dressed whilst I had my cup of tea & fully dressed by 09:20. The window cleaner turned up to clear next doors gutters. We got DSis out of bed at 09:35 & DH & I rode off at 09:48. Had quite a good run out of London although it stayed overcast & quite chilly until 11:50 when we stopped at Chieveley services for a bathroom break, coffee & a bun. I just about got warm before we headed off about 40 minutes later. We spotted a red kite from the car park 😊 Headed off again & within 30 minutes the weather had improved quite a lot - brighter & warmer. Two landmarks photographed & then headed off to the pub & the last landmark (Tintagel Castle) At 16:38 the heavens opened, at 16:43 hailstones the size of petit pois fell for 5 minutes, then back to torrential rain, thunder & lightning- all over by 16:58 - leaving DH & I soaked to the skin & feeling a bit bruised & battered 😔 As we headed into Cornwall the weather improved & by the time we arrived at the hotel (18:20) we were almost dry apart from our feet - both our footwear had leaked & our socks were soaking. DH went off to get the nearby landmark whilst I checked in. Lovely room. DH messaged my DSis who replied that 10 minutes after we left it started raining & didn’t really stop all day 😔 DH showered & we changed & were downstairs by 19:05. Glorious weather - blue skies & sunshine so we had dinner outside. Shared a starter of haddock & asparagus tempura, then both had fish & chips. Washed down with a couple of beers & back in our room by 21:00.
A bit light on animal sightings - the single red kite, horses, cows, sheep, pheasant in a field then a pheasant strolling down the road, a greyhound wandering along a country lane & finally seagulls & jackdaws. Apart from the 20 minutes described we have had a good day 😊
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Very well done keeping ln on the straight & narrow - hopefully she hasn’t set back her recovery by trying to hangout the laundry 🤞Pleased to hear that you have managed to sort out the season tickets already 😊 Lovely cheerleading 😊
Fizz2015, very pleased to hear that you managed to sort out a holiday wardrobe 👏 Excellent decluttering at the car boot & even nicer that you earned some holiday money 😊
TC77, if you so desire I will keep my fingers crossed that the house you might view is way too expensive 🧐 Just let me know 😉

Hi all, good day today. The 2 union things have been progressed but it will mean the whole of Friday will be used to further them and probably most of Saturday to get them typed up and emailed off but checking the weather forecasts it seems to be rainy so I won't worry too much
. The bedroom bin, kitchen bin and kitchen recycling were emptied. Another load of washing through the machine and along with the 2 loads left on the line from yesterday they all got dried so 3 LDFPA.. I got 2 massive bags of garden waste into the bin, brambles are still a problem and are continuing to try to disguise themselves as the rose but I spotted them, sneaky things. I contacted the place where we are going on holiday to check we have a freezer in the kitchen as OH seems to be planning on taking half of what we have in the freezer here
. Luckily we do have one though I am probably over stressing about it and we will end up eating everything in the first 3 days
. Friend's son, B, who has been on a strict diet and lost loads of weight has said he is planning on eating his own body weight in chocolate and cheese
. I have sorted more banking stuff, collected my meds and deleted 100 emails. I sorted 2 big pots for ln, 2 more to sort but they currently have alliums in flower in them so that will be a few weeks yet, and everything watered. Delivered a small gift to neighbour over the road as it was his birthday. His brother and sil arrived and I later got a phone call from the db to tell me the bed had been delivered for downstairs but was not being used and the carers have been sacked! Not entirely unexpected but worrying. Social worker had visited yesterday and we think the arrangement will be for someone to call once a day just to check he is ok. I am waiting for the call to find him at the bottom of the stairs, he has refused a chair lift as walking up and down stairs is good exercise. So we are just watching this space. I was supposed to go for a ct scan today, part of a trial I am participating in but the appointment was cancelled so just stayed in the garden chatting with ln
.
I have to confess at this point that something has come in, a hand operated sewing machine. It used to belong to a friend's Mum and we used it in school for a while teaching the pupils to sew before we let them use the electric machine and I always loved it. It's a singer about 90 years old, simple stitches only but easy to set up and use. I do have my Mum's electric one but it badly needs a service and can be a bit tricky to use. OH hasn't noticed it yet
@TC77, hope the house suits when you get to see it.
@Vulpix , "I don't know what they're doing but they laugh a lot behind the green door" . I love it that colour. I think it looks great with all the matching hostas in pots. If it were my door I wouldn't change it
. Great news that the last of the stuff you are responsible for at your Mum's will be gone tomorrow
. I can understand why your dil is thinking of moving
. Fluffy looks very regal
@Florenceem that colonoscopy prep stuff is ruthless. I hope you can save your matress and Mr F is ok, hugs.
@QueenJess, oh I was sort of joking hugs. I just feel you are so stressed about it all I thought it might help you destress a bit If you could think a bit about how good you will feel when you have reached maintenance mode, I think everyone is continually decluttering at some level just because life happens and having small children will mean you are constantly sorting through clothes and toys until they are old enough to sort themselves out but you are doing brilliantly and I really think it won't be that long before you can take some time to spend with your family and do some baking, hugs.
@mhagster when are you moving?
@florianatwobob what a fab dress
@Mrs SD I love tintagel castle and all around that rugged coastline. Shame you got soaked but great it didn't last long,. Hope the journey back is easier .
Right off to bed so hugs to anybody who would like one

@vulpix - Green door is a great colour. Princess Fluffy is a lovely cat.
Mrs. S_D - Hope you have a great trip.
I am helping take care of my sister's dog and my sister - she had foot surgery and her older dog has to be carried outside several times a day. Today took G to Social Security Office, went to take sister to doctor's office, took her home, went to get G and had to wait a half hour for him, took him home, back to sister's to take care of dog, had lunch with sis, then stayed to look after dog, then went to meet others at FamilySearch Center with a quick stop at the post office. I will be having several days of going back and forth to my sister's - tomorrow will be going to sister's, going home to take Di to Chimes class, back to sister's, pick up Di two hours later, take her to Disneyland for her birthday tomorrow, and then go back to sister's before I pick up Di at Disneyland and go to the FamilySearch Center. Thursday it will be taking G to doctor's office, then to sister's for the day. Home and collapse.
We are expecting more drizzle - not really rain - this week.15 -
Lovely dress florian, perfect for our trip.
WeenancyinAmerica please schedule some time for yourself and keep to it as rigidly as you would if it was an appointment for someone else. You aren't a taxi driver for everyone you know, its ok to put yourself first xxx
Enjoy Cornwall the SDs
Busy day ahead, best get on

Journey to hospital was fine - arrived 10 minutes early.
Mr F had the procedure and they removed 2 polyps and said he had diverticulitis. A long wait for results from the lab on the polyps.
We were on the bus home when I got a text - someone wanted to deliver to the SA - they waited outside until I arrived. I sorted sacks of donations while they unloaded their van.
DD collected the baskets of makes after school yesterday.
Mr F had a call from the surgery - Dr wants to see him about the ultrasound result so he has an appointment booked for next week.
SA day today.

Morning all. Long time no post because well...life happens. Yesterday we accepted an offer on our house and had our offer on a new house confirmed so looks like we shall be moving this year (keeping all fingers crossed 🤞). We started out quite well with the decluttering earlier on in the year but now the real fun starts 🤣
We know we're taking all our existing furniture with us so that's one less headache to deal but that doesn't mean there aren't things that need decluttering! We're going to tackle the kitchen this weekend as we know we have way more glasses and cups than we need and I can also get to grips with what food is lurking at the back that needs using up somehow.
I then have a list of all the areas that we still need to declutter which in reality isn't too much. But will attempt a drawer or a shelf every couple of days.
Feels good to be back on the forum and hope everyone is doing well.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201716 -
Fluffy on the bed today as it is raining heavily.
Florenceem, don't give up on the glasses just yet. I loose mine for months at a time then they turn up in coat pockets and in knitting bags when I least expect them to. I hope you can also talk to the GP about all the other stuff going on with Mr F. In isolation it doesn't seem so bad but all together it is concerning.
Floriana, what a lovely dress, and a bargain. I bought a 20's type dress from Oxfam last year for the cruise roaring twenties night. I never wore it. It is all tassels,sleveless, black, knee length. Quite suitable for the Orient express I think, with long silk gloves, a cigarette in a long holder and a peacock feather headband.
Looking forward to hearing about your travels Mrs SD.
We will have to take the hoover up to Mum's later as the big cupboard had never been moved for many years. It is going to be a laugh getting the 3 seat sofa out and up to the road for the council kerb side collection. I do believe my SIL commandeered a neighbour who is a fireman to help getting it in.
Off out for the afternoon whilst my cleaner is here.
