Hi all ! Had dramas with a new media wall and basically it doesn't have a hdmi port on the sound bar and the optical cable on the TV is damaged
I've bought an rca red white which doesn't connect- think as the TV is input not output. How else can i connect? Soundbar has an orange coax?

Is this cable for coax to coax (orange ports?)

Or a splitter type device hidden behind the wall - that would go hdmi and then give me an optical connection?
Last resort is a replacement soundbsr better than the yahama, same dimensions for media wall and decent price0 -
Or a new telly with two scart ports , it appears fairly old.....
You can get scart to phone l r and video but I suspect all those scarts are inputs

Not seen scart as an option at all
I nearly bought 55 inch apple TV on black Friday- won't replace now as the wall is built for 50 inch.
I'm looking at soundbars but if I stick with this one - splitter or coax options ?0 -
This might work using the hdmi arc port but it's a guess I'm afraid

Have you tried connecting that phono socket that I can't see properly, that says somethingW.OUT to the COAblurrywriting phono socket on the soundbar?Any old phono to phono lead will do.EDIT: COAblurrywriting - COAXIAL! Doh!!! I should have realised that they are calling phono sockets coaxial.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

You need to move the HDMI cable that currently goes into the port labeled ARC into HDMI2. You then need to buy a HDMI audio extractor, plenty for sale on Amazon, and plug that into the ARC HDMI port and use an optical cable from it to the soundbar.
The SCART ports won't be outputting sound and so no point getting a SCART to Composite cable0 -
EDIT: Ignore this original post of mine As pointed out later in this thread I (and possibly Cerebus) have had a brain fade. Digital out hdmi and analogue in phono connections do not mix without conversion.Rubbish follows from me:Cerebus would seem to have found a cable to work. At only £8 it is worth a try.Correct to to warn there is no guarantee it will work. The description is very full but crappy ( as is often the case on some Far Eastern imports) with conflicting statements but likely to be fine for the job.....assuming the TV and sound bar are both working with analogue audio out on hdmi.Certainly worth the small sum if it works.1

Not sure which port you're expecting the coaxial cable to go into? The 4 coaxial ports on the back of the TV are all analogue and 3 are video in. The Coaxial on the soundbar is likely to be digital and so won't accept the analogue subwoofer output. Even if it did it's going to be mono and so likely the soundbar sounds worse than the TV's built in speakers.0
