@LadyWithAPlan - when I haven't got any breadcrumbs I've used instant mash powder mixed with some dried herbs which works quite well so no reason why oats wouldn't work although think I'd whizz them a bit to make them a bit finer. Let us know how they work as a coating.11

Any suggestions for bulk GF flour purchases?
My dad uses oats instead of flour when making cutlet type things for me as I have to be GF. So he pounds the meat (pork/chicken) into submission with herbs and then coats in egg and oats as he has only normal flour in his house (he is a serious breadmaker) . He does not whizz them which works on such big cutlets - makes them crunchy.. - but I like your whizzing idea - a great idea - for the smaller finer fish cakes. Will report backDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

372/600 on target Had a win today as family member gave me a 500g trifle that had just gone out of date and they would not be able to eat. So eat half and put other half in freezer. Also the farm shop had the biggest bananas and huge savoy cabbage. I will be eating cabbage for days. I put a slice in air fryer with cheese today quite nice. I will have some tomorrow with white sauce and bacon. I will make some into soup and also do a coleslaw. i am going to try and remember not to overcook it so to avoid smell. However with hypothyroidism I should avoid consumption of raw cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage but have not had for a while and fancied it.21k savings no debt9
