£0 spend on bread today.
Organised myself to put a loaf in the breadmaker. I have bags of bread flour in the cupboard, it took no longer to do than popping into the shop and as that shop would have been Co-op saved upwards of £1.80 :-)

A little update, I spent £31.20 bringing my smol order forward so I’m going to add £18.80 to my next weekly shop so I can buy flour at the supermarket instead of ordering online this month. This will keep me within my £50 budget for that category.£31.20/£500 for JanuarySave £12k in 2024: £13,542/£12,00010

Soontobeoap said:Thank you all for your tips for fish cakes without parsley. I was determined to make do and ended up using 2 medium potatoes, 2 tins tuna, a small red onion finely chopped, 1 dspn of mayonnaise and 1 tspn mustard with a little salt all mashed together. I formed mixture into shape and coated with hm bread crumbs made from slightly ood bread. This made 5 but I could easily have made each one a bit smaller. They were really tasty.
@Soontobeoap hope your mouth heals quickly...
Dinner was Defrosted YS beef mince fried in a chermoula spice, harissa paste, tomato puree, chicken stock, YS mushrooms and pink onions with brown rice and peas and some HM pickled pink onion and sliced cucumber. My freezer has a lot of YS meat in from Coop shop and HM stock and got HellFrsh arriving Sunday so will aim to make do from fridge /freezer til them
As I am doing decluttering again using the minimalism game which includes the fridge I popped on neighbourhood whats app I had some spare plant based Alp** desserts I am not that keen on and breadcrumbs (normal as came in HF ) and I am GF... Neighbour is picking up tomorrow and swapping some bacon left over from her parents visit and she is vegan so an unexpected result!
Hope all are doing well and finding Jan food and life budgets not to difficult after Xmas ... hopefully we all getting thru leftovers.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@Finstickle well done resisting the urge and using up resources instead. @StickyTheStickInsect I'm so glad you're back. The profile pic of Dougal from Father Ted always made me laugh so much. 😂
This afternoon Mr. Jings spent £16.43 at M & S because I called him and asked him to get something for dinner from there. I've been feeling dizzy all day and couldn't face cooking. He bought a hodgepodge of items but so it goes. SIGH.
£40.73 / £330 spent. £264.97 remaining
The Morrisons order is coming tomorrow. I added a couple more items like brown basmati rice and black peppercorns because we're completely out of both. Let's see what shows up tomorrow. Similar to @BudgetingBelinda, I'm also planning out my online shops for the rest of the month. It helps me know how much wiggle room there is for incidentals like milk or yoghurt.
