Glad you've had a bit of a cobweb-clearing walk Greying 😊 I too have been stomping about in the leaves (trying to make good use of my EH membership) and am feeling a bit better for it!
  • I was just looking for star in a reasonably priced jar decaf coffee or I wouldn't have even have looked in the processed food bit. They had chicken/mushroom and something else that I cant remember. I am sure I used to buy the mushroom one to have with chicken when I was a student, many, many depressingly many years go)

I used to make a chicken pie with the condensed mushroom soup, but that was a very long time ago when I could still eat pastry.  If nothing else it saved making gravy & I never did like chicken gravy much anyway.
  • Good Morning  MFW'rs

Heavy rain during the night, so we've woken up to 'very damp' here, but at least there is a strong breeze and it is supposed to get sunnier later.  So I've popped a wash on - DH's workwear which needs plenty of washing and then plenty of drying time.  I suspect an autumnal day - however 'good' won't get it all dry, but still; we'll see.

Cheery - I'm glad that you've got out and about and have been able to enjoy an EH spot.  Last one we went to was a tourist mecca - however, even in amongst the crowds, there was the opportunity to 'step sideways' into some calm and serenity, so I hope it gave you some battery-charging time.

I ended up watching "The lady in the van" on i-player last night.  I'd forgotten how funny - and yet, ultimately, how sad, it was.  Good acting and a great cast though.

Pizza and oven chips was a hit last night for tea.  I think that the fact we'd not had it in a while added to it's savour.  We had a MrS fake magnummy for pud and LG had the last fake c0rnyetto.  There was some pizza left over for another day, so that went in the freezer.  DH managed to eat tea, although he's beginning to wonder if the tooth extraction has been successful as he still has pain and to be sure, the side of his face has started to appear swollen again.....I'm pretty sure the whole tooth was taken out - he brought it home for 'show & tell' 🤮

Right, I best shift-a-tail-feather, these clothes won't peg themselves out.

Thank you for popping by.  Greatly appreciated.

  • May be dry socket like Mr Cheery had after his extraction? Mine was sore for no more than a day or two.
  • Thanks redo - some of the symptoms are pointing in that direction 😬  And of course, it's the weekend...... 🙁  I'll go and look up some more, and talk to DH - thanks again.

  • a dentist once advised that you wouldn’t have surgery on any other part of your body and expect to be fully recovered.  His poor mouth has been poked, prodded, injected and that’s after infection. It’s probably still really bruised

My recent extraction was sore for about a week or so, and still tender since - but it definitely got better each day, rather than worse. Mr Cheery did indeed have dry socket, got better for a couple of days then worse again (well remembered Redo!) - I've had it before and it was very painful, but it was fixed easily and even Mr Cheery started feeling better within an hour of the dentist.

Hope Mr GP can see someone - Mr C's was at the weekend too - we followed the instructions on 111 and it gave us the emergency line for the county, who found us an appointment, I think the following morning (more likely to be same day the earlier you ring, we did have to drive an hour to the nearest city but it was worth it).

    Good luck x

GP - how do you make your pizza base? I make bread & dough in my bread maker, but my pizza bases are never much good. When I stretch the dough, it goes too thin in the centre & goes into holes, while being too thick around the edges. Bread rolls are no problem, the dough is perfect for those.
