Thanks Bookworm - that is a good idea. I've got a little stash of mini jam jars that I've collected over the years, that work, but certainly the pill box would work, particularly to give more options than pre mixed spices. And although the jars are reuseable, the lids do tend to get discoloured or go rusty, so they don't last forever.

Did anyone get any 'Mystery box' or 'free vouchers' on their MrL app this morning? I didn't. The 15% coupons are not worth it to me this week either. And if the asparagus is anything to go by, the mushrooms will probably be 15% dearer than last week, to offset the coupon 🙄I don't buy the 'sweet treat' stuff from the in-store bakery, so 15% off various flavours of twists is of no use to me - much the same as the absolutely pathetic 'discount' on end of day baked goods - seriously MrL, you expect me to travel an additional journey to pay to take your leftovers away?

I did buy a cucumber from MrL yesterday (how groundbreaking….), over buying one from MrS - they were in effect the same 'price', but MrL was actual cash price, MrS was 'with points'. But - rightly or wrongly - I'm so fed up of the changes to the app, that I'm not even doing my 'normal' shop at MrL anymore. If the prices are the same at MrAl, or MrS, I'm buying things from the shop that gives additional incentive to shop there. I prefer the MrS cheese, so go there to buy that, and pick up milk, bananas, eggs etc, if they are the same price.

Rant over. I must spend too little at all these shops to trigger any benefits. So on I plod.

I had a £5 off a £40 spend coupon this morning, valid for only 3 days. As it happens, I will be shopping tomorrow as it is a week since I last shopped. I wasn't planning on spending £40, but will probably stock up on loo rolls, coffee, tea bags etc.

I also had 2 x 15% off vouchers I will use. One for unwaxed lemons which are on my shopping list for making elderflower cordial as I noticed the elderflowers yesterday. I will also use a coupon for rocket.

I will not be using the coupons for malted milk biscuits or the one for a pink iced doughnut! When will they realise these are items I never buy?!

@Greying_Pilgrim - over the past year, we've all but given up on collecting points and any of the supermarkets!

We don't shop at our local MrMrT - as the bright lights and loud music make it a horrendous place to shop. MrAs is a no go because I refuse to play dodg'em with fellow shoppers. MrS seems to have fruit and veg that turn if you so much as look at them the wrong way. MrL is no longer as competitive as it used to be so not worth the trip to the edge of town and MrAl never has parking in the accessible bays! We've opted instead for MrOc online shopping with a top-up if needed from Waitflower - both delivered to our house and the second normally gets to us withing an hour of ordering! We miss out on yellow sticker deals, but overall it's easier to keep within budget as we don't buy anything extravagant and stick to the basics most of the time. The only shop we tend to go to is the international store (an independant) once a month for our treaty stock-up of dim sum and we have found that even that can be delivered to us if we really wanted/needed.

All that to say, OH collects MrT points by using his credit card which I turn into vouchers to use when I have to have a work lunch with colleagues (Pizza xprs - paid on the app so no one but me knows the difference) and I collect MrS points by using my credit card, which I put towards the Uber service that delivers Waitflower top-ups.

For us, delivery costs are mitigated both by using points and because we don't fill up on petrol as often as we used to.

…and on that note, I'm about to check my Nectar app to see what useless coupons they have sent this week - if nothing else good for a laugh - and I've still not bought my so-called 'favorite' sandwich from MrS since last August!

I'm saving online ordering for when I have to give up my car. We won't be able to replace this one, and DH needs the car for commuting.

I collect n*ctar points because they do translate to being able to shop - OK, so at MrS, but I've used the vouchers to pad out lean months, or purchase uniform, so they are useful to me. But MrL's offering is neither one thing nor the other. Spend £175 to get a "free" bag of Walnuts?

No, none of the 'loyalty' cards are any good anymore. It's a shame that you've got to have them to get some of the items at a 'better' price, but I ran back to the car yesterday, as I'd forgotten to take my phone instore (and no, I can't remember my mobile no. I haven't used it much), but in future, I doubt it will matter much if I don't 'swipe' each time I shop.
