I am off to have an Indian Head Massage in a minute. I usually have reflexology with her, but I thought I would try something different. It is still fairly mild here for October and I'm going to walk through the park first.7

I went for my weekly swim at the local council swimming pool. It is not expensive, £3.50 for a swim and a nice hot shower. I take a hot drink in a flask. I can manage twenty slow lengths now, having built up again steadily.
It is half term so there were some other grannies with grandchildren and I suggested trying handstands to a couple of youngsters. I can still do one, just about.
So many memories.
I missed my little Frog who did her many swimming badges and lifesaving there. She still swims and her children too.
Swimming regularly at the hospital swimming pool after work.
Further back, when we were trusted to go to the local swimming pool for one of our many school P.E. lessons.
My own swimming lessons on Saturday mornings with my siblings.
Swimming with Mum.
Over sixty years of swimming.

@Wednesday2000 - I hope you enjoyed your head massage 😁
@Nelliegrace - I'm glad you enjoyed your swim 😁 it sounds like it's an activity which has given you pleasure for many years!
Today has been busy but lovely, I stripped the bed, did two loads of normal laundry, cleaned the house, had a shower, went and did some shopping, came home and prepared dinner (including harvesting from the garden) and am now relaxing with a chamomile tea 😁
Tomorrow my son, dil, grandbaby and their dog are coming over so it's going to be a busy morning; once they're gone I'm going to have a quiet afternoon and do some reading and more new year planning.
Last night we had Ethiopian lentils, basmati rice, sourdough pancakes, mint raita, mango chutney and onion marmalade - very delicious and not too much like magma this time!! 😂

Training all day......and then the phone rings and I have to miss a portion to take that, important work stuff. And then the gardener rings and can he come early. OK. And then the gardener arrives and I have to pop outside to point at the things to be done. And then the training finishes at the same time as the gardeners and I rush out to make sure all is done and that we've got a date for next time only to discover that they've already gone and possibly taken George the spider with them!!
OH NO!!! NOT George!!!!! The web was so lovely but obviously someone has walked right through it. Maybe they adopted George to take home and celebrate Hallowe'en?
But now I'm relaxing, will be able to look out to the dark garden which I know looks lovely and be fed sausages, pork and sauerkraut.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Happy World Vegan Day!! 🙌🥳
I've been having a lie in this morning before the hoards arrive but will get up soon as I really want a latte!!
It's new moon @12.47 today so I'm hoping that the kids have been and gone by then as I like to do a card reading and set my monthly intentions at new moon - it's the ageing hippy in me! 😉😂
No cooking to do tonight as we have enough leftovers from the last two nights to cover dinner but I have soaked a job lot of chickpeas overnight which I need to cook as I'm making bbq chickpeas in quinoa wraps tomorrow and some hommous. We're having artichoke, cauliflower, potato and chickpea casserole for dinner on Sunday which will use any that are left.
Last night we had lemon and dill tofu; mixed grains (rye, barley, oats and short grain brown rice); steamed beetroot, carrots, parsnips, broccoli and courgettes; courgette, tarragon and lemon oil salad and a rocket, black grape and pomegranate salad. It was really lovely 😋
@Brie - sounds like a chaotic morning!! 😳 Hopefully George has just decided to relocate 😉

Glad to see George is still there! You do tend to get attached to them. Fred lives in my garage. Always worry that one of my roommates might do him in - then I realize that they never go out there.5
-
@Brie - I'm pleased to know that George has returned with gusto!! 😁
@weenancyinAmerica - I hope that Fred manages to stay safe!! 🤞
I've had a busy 36 hours - I decided that I wanted a bespoke diary for the next 12 months that serves as a road map for my intentions and helps me keep on top of my activities as well as moon phases, giving me seasonal living prompts/ideas etc. so I've made my own!! 😁
It's a long process but I'm happy with the design now so will complete the first season print out and get it printed before Wednesday. I'm going to run with it this winter season and tweak it along the way before I complete/print the spring part. It's a very comprehensive diary - it will really help me focus on my activities and keep me consistent which is perfect for me 😁
Today's food is leftovers - the chickpeas are beautiful and I've got spare ones plus more bbq sauce.
I'm thinking that I will re-purpose the sauce tomorrow for spicy black beans which I'll serve with squash, purple sweet potato, plantain and corn. Tuesday will be artichoke, cauliflower, chickpea and potato casserole; Wednesday lentil pastichio; Thursday will be my new year dinner so that will be homegrown scarlett runner beans and veg in lentil pancakes with a spicy hg courgette and tomato sauce topping. Friday will be leftovers.
Have a fab slow day!! 🐌😁
