@Nelliegrace - I remember when my dd sent me a video of my grandbaby pushing around a baby sized trolley in a supermarket - I watched it far too many times!! 😂 it is so lovely watching them being involved 😍 Hopefully the next film you go to see will be one you like more 🤞
Dinner was as discussed in my last post - I added spaghetti squash, rocket, pomegranate and hommous to it so a before & after below!!
Tonight I've got my grandbaby so I'm going to do some lentils and buckwheat for tonight's dinner. Tomorrow I'll make a soup with some veg and the leftovers from tonight.
I'm finally going to go to out tomorrow - I need to stock up on some stuff for my grandbaby and arrange a couple of appointments too so I'm going to sort it all in the morning after dropping my grandbaby off at school. I also need to get my car cleaned but I'll wait until half term for that - I struggle with the car seat!! 🙄🤦♀️
Right, I'm off for a shower and a yoga nidra practice before I pick up my grandbaby - have a fab slow day!! 🐌😁

I assume from all your beautiful photos of dinners that you are vegan. I wonder if you feed your grandchildren the same or not. Some parents might think that their little darling must have meat, eggs, milk. I know with my mom she had the opposite situation - grandchildren being raised as vegetarians but who quite happily would scoff down the bacon or burgers or whatever was put in front of them. Their dad (my bro) wasn't vegetarian but his wife was so he was at home but maybe the situation is completely different.

@Brie - not too personal at all! Yep, I've been vegan for a very long time so my grandbabies have always eaten vegan here. My kids spent the majority of their childhoods in a vegan household so don't expect me to feed their kids any differently - they know I don't have animal products in the house now.
Had a lovely night with my grandbaby - we built a huge track for his trains in the bedrooms and had lots of fun playing with that and a few other things. After I dropped him at school this morning I went to get a few bits from the shop and made an appointment with the optician so I've got that sorted now. I want it done before my new year - I am struggling with my current glasses and it's annoying me!! 🤦♀️😂 I stocked up on his after school snacks and managed to pick up a few storage boxes cheaply so that was a bonus!!
I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner tonight 🤔 I'm going to make butter beans cooked in lemon and thyme but that's as far as I've got!! I'll post a piccie of my final decision 😉
Latte is calling me - have a lovely slow day! 🐌😁

The weather here is pretty dull today but it's not too cold; I've been up since ridiculous o'clock and it was beautiful out there at that time - a reasonably clear sky, a luminous 'just past full' moon, a gentle breeze and lots of very bright stars. No noise other than my waterfall and the occasional owl hoot, no light other than moonlight....it felt magical! 😁
Today will be a quiet one, I've got a to do list to get through but it's predominantly filled with list making! I've got a lot to get through over the next 17 days and don't want to forget anything so lists will be a really beneficial thing to have - I'm much more likely to achieve stuff when it's there in black and white and it keeps me focused.
Dh will be watching the football later so I'll make my lists then. The baskets for my new freezer that I ordered ages ago have finally arrived so I'll be transferring freezer stuff and completing an inventory at the same time. I will then defrost the big upright freezer and give that a thorough clean tomorrow 🤢😂
I'm making a pie today - I'm not sure if we'll eat it today or tomorrow yet - I put some carlin peas in to soak yesterday so I'll cook those to go with it. I've got plantain, onions, potatoes, celeriac, romanesca cauliflower, cavolo nero, brussel sprouts, parsnips, carrots and beetroot available too but I'm not sure what to cook with it yet - I'm thinking pie, peas, mash and gravy to be honest and I can save the other veg for later in the week. 🤔 I'll post a piccie of whatever I decide!
Time for latte, have a fab slow Sunday!! 🐌 😁

We had an old fashioned evening at the local amateur dramatics group who put on the melodrama, Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The players were very good, no muffed lines, nice costumes, and a lot of work had gone into the scenery. We had a cup of tea and biscuits in the interval.
Woolton pie sounds very appetising now, it will be some time before I will want a meat pie.5 -
I'm just catching up on YouTube today as I normally do on a Sunday. I went for a quick walk earlier and it is drizzling slightly. I don't think we are having a storm here. I'm going to make jacket potatoes later which should heat up the house a bit with having the oven on and I'm going to have a lavender bath tonight. I had my flu jab this week and apart from needing a nap after I felt okay. I think I'm going to get my fleecy blanket out of the wicker basket and just have a cosy day at home.🤩4

@Nelliegrace - Sweeney Todd sounds good! 😁 I'd never heard of a Woolton pie (had to look it up!) but it sounds nice! 😁
@Wednesday2000 - quiet day at home sounds perfect!! 😁 I'm glad you're doing fine after your jab, I hope it continues!! 🤞
So, yesterday didn't turn out as planned - I got my lists done, didn't get the freezer sorted, made the savory pie, made a chocolate 'pie' filling (couldn't make the crust as I'm out of oats) with silken tofu, plantain, cocoa and oat milk, made bread, slobbed. I ended up coming to bed early as I was really tired but still couldn't sleep so watched some rubbish on tv.
We had soup for dinner last night (sorry about the dodgy piccie - I'd forgotten to take one so had to quickly take one of dh's before he ate it all!! 🤦♀️😂) It was carrot, ginger, squash and sweet potato - very nice and enough left for lunch.
Tonight will be the pie 😁
I've got an opticians appointment this morning so need to get showered and sorted soon - I'm planning on doing a bit of shopping while I'm out then coming home and cleaning the house. I've let everything slide over the past two weeks - I decided that being sober was my highest priority so have ignored everything else while I got through the tricky early days. It's day 15 today and I'm feeling much more confident now so I feel that it's time to introduce my new normal and re-engage with day to day life - I'm desperate for my house to be clean again!! 🙄🤦♀️

Lazy start to the day so far, made some porridge, washed some cups ( got the builders in ) grated a box of cheese from the lump in the fridge and almost half the day has gone. Oh I did roll the recycling bin out for collection 🤣🤣🤣🤣
DGS Ben is bursting to get going in my new garden and here for two weeks, so we are going to a garden centre after lunch to get some bulbs for him to plant for the spring
it’s all go 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣3 -
We have a small amount of roast pork left from dinner last night, a bit of salmon from breakfast and some very very stinky cheese in the fridge which has to be eaten or severely isolated somewhere. (you can just about smell it when you walk into the kitchen and opening the fridge door means you get smacked in the face with it. The milk is beginning to take on the smell too....)
So wondering about pulling out the prepped squash, carrots and a bit of cauli from the freezer and making some soup. Problem is I'm so knackered today having had a really busy weekend. Currently in that so tired I'm shivering phase.....and I've got art class in a couple of hours.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
