Slow Living - Doing It Old Style!

@Nelliegrace - I hope you enjoyed your library trip! 😁
@Teaparty_mum - slow living is all about being mindful and in the moment so you can still be mega busy! 😉😁 I do lots of cleaning and other tasks but I try to make sure that I'm completely immersed in what I'm doing rather than let my brain wander - it takes time and practice but it's very worth it in the end!
Yesterday was a busy but lovely day - I got the house cleaned and had the planned breaks throughout which was really nice. I don't think I'll do the clean/break thing often but it was ideal for yesterday 😁
I made the Moroccan lemon and potato soup yesterday and a loaf of wholemeal olive bread to go with it - both were fabulous and we're having leftovers tonight 😋
I've got my grandbaby tomorrow night so I'll be making a lentil bolognese for dinner as I also have a couple of courgettes to use. I have beetroot in the garden and apples in the kitchen so I'll grate those to go with it along with a rocket, black grape and pomegranate salad.
Today I'm having a quiet day - I am aching a lot today as a result of my cold so think an r&r day is required! The weather is still pretty grim so I don't feel the need to do outdoor stuff today! 😂
Anyway, I'm off to make a chamomile tea - have a fab slow day!! 🐌 😁DNF: £708.92/£1000

Dinner tonight was lovely and my grandbaby ate more than all of us!! 😉😂
Dark speckled lentil bolognese made with a roasted tomato, courgette, basil and garlic sauce from the freezer. I served it with wholewheat pasta and the salads - very lovely!!
It's New Moon at 19.49 so I'm doing a card reading and setting intentions at that point - I've put the candles, waterfall, fairy lights and oil burner on in the yoga room and currently have 'new age' music on in the background. It's a very peaceful evening 😍😁DNF: £708.92/£1000

The short mat bowls club has started again in the village hall, as the Crown Green Bowls season is ending.
Some hardy souls will be playing bowls on the Astroturf all winter, probably brushing off the snow, they were soaked by the heavy rain yesterday. There are team matches in the hall most evenings, all very competitive.
I like the more leisurely game in the afternoon, in the nice warm hall. We have a tea break, and if there is a birthday someone brings doughnuts.4 -

@Nelliegrace - I have a friend who plays bowls and he really enjoys it - its nice that there are activities going on that you can get involved with! 😁
@Brie - gardeners are amazing when they are good! I do my own now but still get that fab feeling when things are looking better 😉
I think I'm at the back end of the cold now - I am definitely starting to feel slightly less achey so I'm hopeful that by Monday I will be back to normal 🤞 we're having a relatively quiet weekend this weekend - we've got a few bits to do in the garden and I want to do some catch up on life admin too. I'm looking forward to pottering to be honest, it's all felt a little messy over the past few weeks so it will be nice to have some quality down time with my dh.
Tonight's dinner is cabbage, beans and rice for dh - I'm not certain if I'll be eating that or if I'll just finish off my scrambled tofu that I have leftover from this mornings breakfast 🤔 anyway, I'm off to write a to do list for the weekend - hope you have a fab slow weekend!! 🐌 😁DNF: £708.92/£1000

Thank you @leftatthetrafficlights, I have just heard of a sewing and knitting group in a church hall not far from here. There is nothing like meeting regularly in a group to get the UFO’s finished.
I dragged DH to the lunchtime swim at the local school leisure centre today. It was busier than usual, there were eleven of us doing lengths, some a lot slower than others. I do one length, get my breath back then do another. I think the pool might be longer than it used to be. It can’t be uphill can it?
The washing went out in the garden, and is hanging up in the kitchen now to finish drying.5 -

Actually though, we're getting a brand new leisure centre with pool not gar from me early next year so I need to go & sort out my over 60's membership when it opens. Thanks for the reminder @Nelliegrace2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

My comment about swimming would be- what stroke are you doing?
Lots of folk at the pool I go to do breaststroke/ front crawl one way and backstroke the other because you can take that stroke much slower & get your breath back.
As an incentive (or not!) 16 lengths of a standard 25 m pool = 1/4 mileBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

@Floss - I hope the new pool is nice 😁
I'm having a lovely lazy morning, I've had a lie-in, a latte in bed and I'm watching rubbish on the tv while dh is in the bath - once he's done I'll get a shower.
We need to do some garden stuff today, we need to plant some stuff out, do some weeding and put the polythene hoop bed on the winter salads. It's probably about an hours work or so.
I'm making a chinese meal tonight - we're having hoisin 'duck' pancakes with spring onions and cucumber; spring rolls; veg stir fry and smoked tofu fried rice . I'm looking forward to it - it's a bit upf heavy but I'm okay with that today as it will probably be the last lot for a while!
Anyway, dh has emerged so I'm off to shower 😁

A slow breaststroke and survival backstroke,@katiehound, and I do a few gentle aquarobics, pushing against the water at the pool side. A quarter of a mile sounds impressive.
When I walk the dog, she makes me take frequent pauses. It is quite helpful.6
