My first week back went really well, thank you.
Slow morning here, made some nice waffles when LO went down for his nap and now waiting for him to wake up so we can go to a nearly new table top sale for kids bits. Have decided I want to sort out our important documents file this afternoon/evening so will pick up some folders to do so on the way back. Miserable day here really but not too bad. Hope you are all well!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January7 -
@kiss_me_now9 - I'm glad you had a good first week back at work and hope you found what you wanted at the sale 😁
I had a quiet night once I'd dropped my grandbaby back home - dh had cleared away his toys by the time I got back and I decided that the house cleaning could wait!
Today I have to go into the city to get some things - it's not something I enjoy at all so I'm going to make sure that I'm there for 9am when the shops open so that I can get done and out of there before it starts to really fill up with people!!
Once I'm home I'll clean the house and then spend the afternoon relaxing - depending on the time I may get a few bits done in the garden; the weather was so rubbish yesterday that we didn't get out to do anything and the pigeons have started to eat my cauliflower leaves so covering with fleece is quickly required!! 😳😂
Have a lovely slow day! 😁DNF: £708.92/£1000

My mum used to iron on a Sunday evening, complaining about the job…I made up my mind to enjoy it. I iron bedding, love slipping between line-dried, ironed bedding. It’s being kind to myself…
Had a mooch round the Artisan Market yesterday. Was very quiet. I was with my friend and DD came too. We saw a teacher from her primary school who asked what she was doing..I took great pride in telling the teacher DD has just passed her Masters degree and how proud I am of her. It was a lovely school, both kids adored it and DS said, when he left, he would love to do it all again. There can be no greater accolade, surely.
Work for me today. I’m now, also, cleaning the space (for which I am paid) and went on Saturday but had to leave the wet floor signs up. I also left chairs on desks (wet floors are sacrosanct until they are bone dry IMO) so i’ll have a busy start.
Curry for tea with artisan market sauce. Might make a kachumber salad to go with it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Unfortunately nothing exciting at the sale. We are looking for a baby/toddler hiking 'backpack' and this was an inner city event so a bit unlikely to find one but a nice afternoon out of the house. I find I get a bit of cabin fever if I stay in too long on a weekend.
Took LO for a run in the buggy this morning, he's napping so I've made some cookie dough for the freezer, then we're heading to a sensory play session at 2pm and I'm off out for a meal tonight with my NCT friends. A good Monday, but not very slow! Hope you're all having a good one.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January4 -
@Valli - it's good that you enjoy ironing 😁 I haven't picked an iron up since my son was around 2 - he's 35 now!! 😂
@kiss_me_now9 - it's a shame that you didn't find what you were looking for at the sale but at least you enjoyed yourself! I hope you had a lovely meal last night 😁
Yesterday's city venture was productive- I got everything I went for, was in and out within an hour and then went to a few 'out of centre' places to look for a new carpet- I've seen one that I quite like so dh is going to mooch at it tonight. I also went to get some fruit, veg and salad stuff so I'm good for that for the rest of the week now 😁
I was knackered when I got home so got no cleaning done (I did get the fleece on the cauliflowers though 😉) so today I'm cleaning- so far I've done the bathroom, bedrooms and the stairs and landing and I feel a lot better for it! I'm just having a ten minute coffee break then I'll do downstairs 😁 This afternoon I may do a bit in the garden or I may just read - either way it will be lovely!

Cleaning all done yesterday - it feels like a calm environment again 😁 I'm picking my grandbaby up after school for a sleepover today so no doubt chaos will return shortly after!! 😂 I'm having a very quiet time until I pick him up, I'll probably just watch some YouTube or read - I'm really tired as I didn't sleep well last night (I was far too hot!) so I may have a little snooze...
Last night for dinner we had roasted tomatoes; pan fried mini peppers with garlic; short grain brown rice; cannellini beans with sage; rocket, alfalfa, broccoli sprouts, pomegranate and blueberry salad and hm olive bread. We'll be having the leftovers tonight so no need to do any cooking today 😁

yesterday my friend and i, and her mum who is 90 in December, went for a stroll by the canal, then sat in the sunshine with a coffee at the canal side cafe, so that was lovely. My friend and I are both trying to improve our fitness and stamina (mine was impacted by chemotherapy) and being out in the sunshine is good for mental health, too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

just googled
"What is the origin of the saying white rabbits? One theory comes from the 1909 book Notes and Queries, which said that children had a habit of making sure “rabbits” was the first word they said aloud on the first day of the month, with the hope that it would bring them luck. This is thought to be the earliest reference to “white rabbits”.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
