  • I'm new to this challenge, should I be including my normal payments to mortgage, cc's in my totals?  I thought I should check before declaring my total.  TIA

    You can declare mortgage and credit card payments in your PADs @TheScarletPixie if you want to, as some people do and others only declare overpayments. It's up to you as budgets are personal 🤗. I include my normal direct debit minimum payments as well as overpayments.

    I forgot to say @TheScarletPixie, that I also count my savings and sinking funds with my PADs.

  • Happy New Year everyone!
    Sneaking on for the 2nd (ignoring it’s past midnight) as lots of PADs!
    £87.42 to various debt inc slight overpayments

    £8.90 to bills month ahead saving pot
    £8.35 to grocery month ahead (this is where my additional income for UserTesting is going this month if not absolutely needed elsewhere )
    £1 save change to buffer fund (for starling spending account )
    £7.60 to general debt payoff pot

    totals : £87.42 to debt

    £25.85 to savings

    total = £113.37

    which having added it up I’m really pleased about.  Buffer fund is now at my first target of £50 which I’m planning to keep in there mostly at all times.  Thought it would take me ages to get there - but it didn’t !
    Thinking of more slowly increasing to £100 to act as a sort of overdraft for general spending account.
