Just withdrawn £121.65  from my personal savings account to go towards the ridiculously expensive rohan walking trousers and shorts I love wearing. It tidied up the balance in the account too as that was the interest which was paid  last month. Nearly the end of May now.

  • Hi, TinaBallerina number 13 reporting £187.49 for May 2024.  I'm a bit disappointed as I thought I'd done quite well with my spending, certainly my food spending is down, but it doesn't reflect in my overall saving figure.  My pension contributions will go up from 1 July (and I don't count them in this total) so that will leave less disposable cash for saving, so I need to think about changing something, I need to sit down with my spreadsheet and see what I can try next.

A very solid month, even with a holiday in it!

I moved some money from a regular savings account into my LISA so that is maxed out for the year. Figured I may as well do that now and get the bonus paid through then I can forget about it.

Did a boot fair on Sunday. £90 profit made. £50 put aside to pay for petrol - have a long weekend away soon. £38 squirrelled away into my ISA. £426 + £38 = £464 total for May (so far).
    #16 Gem-gem reporting another £125 for May.

Don't be too disappointed @TinaBallerina it's the habit that works, saving what and when you can. Mine had been miserably small this year until this month. I reduced my food spending be planning meals from what I have in, using up to minimise waste, using substitute ingredients and shopping less frequently (and to my list), but the big things that are different are the incoming state pension (wonderful) and £200 won on premium bonds between us.

So #2 reporting £1142.62 for May
    Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
