Morning all, It's very damp and stormy here today.
My list for today
Get dressed

Attend uni classes
Do the required exam revision
Do paid stuff (11am - 1pm)
Contact solicitor regarding update.
Laundry (3 loads)
Clean the sink, toilet, and shower
Sign up for the discounts with the oil company.
Declutter 50 emails from personal inbox
Write xmas cards and get ready for posting
Wrap presents that I got at the weekend.
Update Mr T orders and remove the festive food that I have already got.
Trip to the post office.
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today, it's only a shortlist from me today as taking DS to the panto tonight whilst DD is away on a trip with the school. Hope everyone has a good Thursday and manages to stay dry and warm.

OMG we have just completed on our old house in Kent. Such a weird feeling, for some reason I feel like bursting into tears 😭
DH is happy as it means he doesn't have to worry if the pipes burst etc... He's had this house hanging over him for the last 3 months and it's stopped him enjoying this house since we moved in. Hopefully he'll be much more happier and we can enjoy early retirement now😆
I feel sad about the house not being ours now. We had 31 years in that house, some good times and definitely some bad times.
Well now we can enjoy Christmas without worrying about the Kent house now.
Off to throw stuff away now.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Congratulations on completion on the old house Natty, and I'm glad that means your OH can stop worrying about it.Well done MMM for taking on your tricky foster dog. I love adopting dogs that have been fostered because there's so much more information about them than straight in and out of rescue, but bounce dogs are so traumatised I can understand why you decided to keep yours. Lucky lucky dog.Little flying here the past couple of days; shopping while the dog was bathed, trimmed and primped yesterday and then a stint at the Foodbank today. One of my jobs there is to add up all the donations and enter those figures on the computer. Normally we're inundated with donations at this time of year and I struggle to keep up, but this year there's not that much, a trickle rather than a flood. We will still be giving out Christmas parcels but they just won't have as much in as previous years and the day to day demand is as high as it's ever been, so it's still busy.I think I'd like to spend some time in the ktichen tomorrow cooking various things that sound rather nice, but I will have to do a bit of flying and card writing as well.Better is good enough.10

Good news Natty.
2 good things here today:
- conservatory is finished! The plumber has one more thing to check tomorrow; it will take a while to sort out the flower bed outside the conservatory as it has been stood on; but on balance it is good. Mr N has started taking up the rotten bit of floor - a teaspoon would be the best tool as it is all squishy.
- Slinky dress fits!!! Well it does up anyway..........I won't have to breathe too deeply. I had a 'dress rehearsal' with it, consulting internet for hair styles and shoes, so I'm fairly happy about it. So, renewed enthusiasm - had scrambled eggs and baked beans for tea.
other activities:
- wrote long letter to school friend; we usually write long letters at Christmas and birthdays.
- went to Pilates; really worked hard.
- got a birthday card and some hooks for the tiebacks on my new curtains on the way back down the high street from my drumming lesson.
I'm now going to start the latest report. Tomorrow morning will be starting to tidy the house although we can't put much back in the conservatory till we have a floor - just maybe start putting a few pots away or seeing if any bits of wall need painting. 12.55 I have booked a new to me Body Step class. I haven't done step for years, doubtless I'll be rubbish but as long as it burns calories I don't care.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Delighted to hear that you have completed on the sale, Natty. It will mean a lot less for you both to worry about.
This morning I moved DH's chair out of its corner, hoovered the carpet, cleaned the skirting, and even hoovered the floor length curtains to remove as many of Rosie's hairs as possible - she rubs past the curtains as she goes into her nest behind the chair.
All my children and grandchildren (12 of them, plus the two of us) are coming on Dec 29th to play sardines in our little house. Unfortunately the arboretum doesn't do a carvery on Fridays, and I have looked at the menus on offer at various local pubs but am decidedly unimpressed with (a) the vegan offerings and (b) the inevitable increase in prices, so I shall cook a roast dinner and vegan options for everyone. I have decided that even buying two large joints, ready-prepared veg, and a selection of posh puddings from Em&Ess will save me a lot of money compared to eating out. However, I need the full length of the dining table, where is where I have stood my Christmas tree for the past 4 years, as well as the kitchen table to accommodate everyone. Last week DGD1+2 started setting up my tree on the dining table, but fortunately didn't get very far with it, so after lunch DH helped me move it into the LR, where (with a bit of trial and error) it is now occupying a very suitable out-of-the-way space. The lights are working but I will leave the baubles for the girls to add next week.
Rosie and I went for a walk, but it was a very short one as it was pouring with rain.
I'm now trying to reconcile DS2&Co's wish lists with my gift budget!10
